Please post your calla lilly centerpeices or hurricane vase centerpeices

I am looking for pictures of either large or mini calla lillies centerpeices or ideas for what to use with a hurricane vase for centerpeices. I am meeting with florists on Tuesday and want to be able to bring pictures with me! Thanks girls!

I had originally wanted to use mini callas in my centerpiece too but I will warn you that they are VERY expensive! So I decided to use other stuff instead. I think they are beautiful - just want you to be prepared.

Actually, the reason I am leaning towards callas is because the florists I have spoken to over the phone have quoted me higher for black magic roses than for callas. I am so confused! Sonicstef - can you post a pic of your centerpeice? Thanks!

Is it possible that the price difference you are getting quoted is due to the time of year? Maybe?
Just a thought.

Anyway, I had hurricane vases for my centerpieces...I have photos in my closet somewhere and if I can dig them out, I will post them!

How about this:

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this thread, but I only recently scanned this photo of my centerpiece. I used hurricane vases. My florist got them through a company called Two's Company. They only sell through retailers, and my florist charged me about $23/each.

But, you can buy an identical vase at Pier One Imports for about $30 (for the size I used).

It's a little hard to see, but it was our unity candle in a hurricane with a wreath that matched our centerpieces. I provided the candle & shade, the florist charged me $20 for the wreath. I'm drying it & it looks beautiful

I think they will be $ 110 each (we have not finalised the contract yet)

Let me know how everything goes, because I want calla lillies but for a reasonable price.

Is $110 reasonable?
My wedding is not until May

dubliner - I am considering doing the same centerpeice. My friend used it for her wedding and it looked so nice. I was quoted $6-$8 per large calla for my wedding in July. But my friend got 1 dozen of them for $55 for her wedding this past June. Her florist told her that if she would have needed them one week later, than she would've paid almost double! I don't know why! Good luck planning.

Sandy, which florist did you wind up going with? I finally called Kimjon the other day and am meeting with her Thursday night. Did Jeffrey call you back yet? Let me know how things go. Good Luck. Dawn

Dawn - Kimjon is great! You'll really like her just be prepared to spend $$$! I am going with Annie from Pete's Potting Garden. She quoted me 1/2 the price that Kimjon did for my calla bouquet! Good luck!

Calla lillies are my favorite! I also wanted them for my centerpieces, but I have decided not to use them. My bouquet will be calla lillies, my bp will have them in their bouquets, along with Naryne lillies, and the ushers will also wear them. Because they are so expensive, I chose not to have them for the centerpieces. They can go anywhere from $6-$15 per stem, so I would shop around. I was told that there is no particular season for them. Good Luck!
