Please read this...

I posted about this in my review...but in case ya missed it... i donated all the uneaten food from my wedding to an organization called Island Harvest, they hook up with the catering hall and after the reception they come and collect all the left over food (with their own containers) and deliver it to the needy. its a great thing to do, cause believe it or not there are thousands of starving people in our own back yards! www.islandharvest.org

WOW THAT IS ONE OF THE MOST PHENOMINAL THINGS I HAVE SEEN ON THIS SITE! I used to be an avid poster but now Ive turned into a lurker because I don't know there are more important things in life I guess.

BUT I will spread the word about this because it will help many people! Thank you for sharing!!

did your RH have any problem with this? at our initial meeting, we asked what they did with the uneated food and they basically said they throw it out. so we asked if we'd be able to donate it, and they gave us some roundabout answer that pretty much sounded like a 'no' to us. So we called rock and wrap it up, and they said that there are laws that state that our hall can't stop us from donating the food if thats what we want to do... i'm just worried that the RH doesn't like the idea, and i dont want them to cause any problems for us or our wedding! how did it work for you?

What a lovely idea. But so many places I'm looking at for my wedding state in their contracts that no food or drink is allowed to leave the premises after the reception... I just assumed they meant they don't want people ordering extra food to take doggie bags home. You think they'll still allow the food to be donated?

We were lucky cause Bridgeview was cool with it from the start and they said they would continue to promote it to future brides
