Re: PLEASE recommend me a GOOD large screen Tv & a good size to get

We have the Mitsubishi 42' flat screen. It depends upon the dimensions of your room really. Measure the distance between where you'll be and where the tv will go, and that will tell you what size to get. We have a 12 Ft. wide living room, and the 42' is PERFECT in there.

The best to get are definitely the Mitsubishi or the Sony, and make sure you get high def capability!

edited to fix my room dimensions..it's 12' wide...

I agree with alot of what Mistyeyed already stated - I did a lot of research before I surprised DH with his for Christmas....Mitsubishi and Sony make really good ones. I heard that Mitsubishi was actually one of the first in this market and pioneered a lot of it.

I bought the Mitsubishi 50'...not sure of the model off hand but the technology changes fast so not sure if it is even current anymore. I enjoy it! DH loves it!

I need some info on this as well. Also, where is the best store to get them (PC Richards, etc?). I promised FH that I would buy him one after the wedding as a belated wedding present Need a good make at a good price. Nothing huge because it has to fit in our entertainment center. 40-something inches would do it.

I saw a 65 inch at Best Buy. Dont remember who its by, but it was a high definition TV. It was awesome.

It was a good tv, had great color and surround sound. Definatly on my wish list for when we get a house

Jen-

I would recommend the Sony 46' projection screen TV. Its also a HD TV. My husband researched for months and he finally decided to get this one. I love it. Its great to watch movies.

My mom has the one Charliesgirl posted, in 50'...it's great!

PC Richard is a very good place to buy, great prices....I think better than Best Buy.

Oh, Jenn...you should also remember that if it's anything under 46' (I think)..it probably won't have a stand attached to it.

Jen, they aren't that expensive anymore! I think ours was a little over 1600. The high def is SO COOL. We have the expandable wall unit too and bought the stand for ours...it's soooo nice.
I can't wait to host movie nights.

We're getting a 50' Panasonic LCD tv. Price at Best Buy is $3299. LCDs are great - the picture is awesome, like a plasma, and they're not as deep front to back as a rear projection. They're maybe 16' deep.
