Please recommend your Photographer/Videographer

Hi everyone! Can you please, please recommend your photographer/videographer? In your opinion, what are the must haves and don't needs? Is there anything that I should really pay attention to? I am having a very difficult time choosing this vendor... Any advice would be greatly appreciate. Please FM me with packages/pricing if possible also. Thank you in advance.

DO NOT USE VELVET STUDIO!!!! THEY RUINED MY WEDDING MEMORIES. In my opinion squeezing all the lemons to find extra money for your photographer and videographer will make you happy in the long run. Bob at Velvet Studio left me with nothing but blurry pictures and a wedding video that looks like we got married in the 80's and we got married 12/5/09. Not to mention his nasty attitude the day of our engagement and wedding! It's almost 4 years later and it still makes me cry when I look at his work. PLEASE HELP ME SPREAD THE WORD!!

I am having the hardest time comminting to these vendors as well. i feel like their prices are ridiculous and you arent getting anything for it but pictures so all you are really doing is paying them a huge per hour.. I could see if albums were involved or something with these quotes but they are not!!

But basically all i want is
all my photos on a hi res flash drive or cd I want full photo rights, and I need 10 hours of photo service unlimited pictures and locations. . Make sure you get full rights to your hi res images so you can make your own albums when the time comes!!

I want a Videographer for like 8 hours ceremony and reception only raw footage cleaned up.
I have gotten very few quotes for under 3000 for these services combined.

I was having the same problem - FH and I are on a tight budget, but pics are really important. I mean, you're going to have them forever. I am so so so happy that we found TJ at Angel Project (Manhasset). His pics are amazing - really photojournalistic too, which is what I wanted. And, he will really try to work with any budget. We are getting him for 10 hours, about 4 or 5 nice prints, and rights to all the digital pics he takes. He created a budget friendly package for us which forgoes the expensive album and it fell right into our budget. We can create our own album at any time, with the rights to all our pics. Or, we may get a nice album from him as a 1year anny gift to ourselves.
TJ is super talented and just the sweetest guy - def check out Angel Project!

This is 1st time I'm posting but I just booked my photo/video and I went with pavel shpak..no mention of him on liweddings so I figured I'd post something. I met with another photographer before I booked him and wHen I saw his albums I was like he is the one. To me albums were really important and I really liked his style plus he had video also so that was very convenient.

I didn't even know that someone else other than you can have rights to your pictures. So grateful for that info. I definitely want to print my photos whenever I want in the future. So sorry about your wedding photographer experience Filomena.

I booked with Paul Kloc. He stays with you as long as you need him at no extra charge. It's $950 for the services and $950 for this huge beautiful album that you can customize yourself. His work is beautiful. I get all the proofs on a CD and we get to chose 300 pictures with additional 30 enlargements. He's coming at 2pm and not leaving until the lights go out at the hall or until I tell him to.. hes great!

I cannot recommend Lighthouse Photography enough! Florio and Joe were absolutely amazing on our wedding day. Our teasers were so beautiful that it made me even more excited for our proofs! Pics in album.

I'm using Scott at Red Sweatshirt for photo and Capture the Moment for video. Between the two, I'm paying $3,500, but their work seems quality and I loved their personalities. I felt that was important since we're spending all day with them.
