please remember what's important UPDATED

please remember what's important UPDATED

So often we get upset or frustrated and post about people in our lives and how angry we are with them, how we wish we didn't have to have them at the wedding or involve them in the wedding party. Words like 'b*tch' and 'a$$hole' and 'hate' get thrown around a lot.

Well, the one person we thought we'd have that problem with is my fiance's aunt. She's got a lot of drug problems and he didn't want to invite her because he was worried she'd get trashed and make a scene.

Today, we visited her in the hospitol. She has cancer, and she really doesn't have a chance. I've never seen anything as horrible looking as the woman in that bed. She barely looked alive. She just turned 50 this weekend.

Whether or not to invite her to the wedding doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.

In the end, problems and fights and whatever aside, these people are still PEOPLE, and they are still family or friends, people you share history with. That's more important than any argument you have over the wedding. We all get angry and frustrated, but in the end, we need to try to keep perspective.

So, please remember that, and please pray for FH's aunt. Please pray that she finds peace.

UPDATE: FH's aunt passed away today. Thank you for your hugs and prayers. If you're the religious type, then please do keep praying that she finds peace and rest.

This is sooooo true, although emotions get high at times due to stress, I always try to remember the good things in people. It's hard to do but you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Re: please remember what's important

Ur right.. I see people on this site talking about how people made them mad and how they are not sure what to do about these people when it comes to the wedding. I think that if u are close with someone or they are family then one day u might regret them not being there in ur special day... I even change my wedding date so that more of my family can come from oversees.
Im sorry u have to go through this bunny... You & FHs aunt will be in my prayes

Re: please remember what's important

you are absolutely right- we had this problem with dh's aunt, we were worried how she would act as she was always competitive, and dh's cousin was jealous that she should have been getting married first and wasn't. we had thought about not inviting the cousin or her boyfriend. a few months before the wedding she found out she had cancer, and a couple months after the wedding she past away. It all seems so petty now that we would have even though about excluding her daughter as that was one of the last few events before the steep decline, she didnt get to make it to her own children's weddings, but I know that she did dance with her son at ours which was probably the last time.
