HYPO: You were unexpectedly invited to an old colleague, friends, etc. wedding. You have no intention of inviting them to your wedding but you feel obligated to go to theirs and in fact are going to go. Would you still give them the same gift that you would give to someone that you will be inviting to your wedding? And just to clarify, we are strictly talking about your invited guests whose weddings you have attended or will attend...so I guess this is kind of a reciprocity scenario.
(I know, I know...it's not about the gift...this is just a friendly debate at work...nobody get offended!)

Re: Please settle office debate (poll)
I'm not sure why it makes a difference if you invited them to your wedding or not. If you're attending thier wedding then I think you need to give them a nice gift. I give pretty much the same amount to every wedding that I go to unless it's for a very close friend or family member.

I know this is not the answer people like to hear, but no, I probably wouldn't be as generous. Just being honest!
