The girl behind me at work in the parking lot!!! I'm throwing an at-work shower for my closest friend here. She's the department's 'class clown' and everyone loves her. We hit if off immediately and spend alot of time outside of work hanging out. She's getting married in July. Anyway, there's this attention HHWWOORREEE behind me that thinks the world revolves around her completely. Every conversation you are having (private or publicly) turns into the 360 degrees of HER. Anyway, she 'thinks' she's like best pals with the girl who is getting married (even though she's not invited to the wedding and knows it) and is now trying to manipulate and control the shower. She only works two days a week, yet she went around talking noise about me to whoever would listen (meanwhile they turned around and told me) that I'm a biotch for not 'consulting' her about the plans. Give me a break! I'll send out an update to the department on the plans and she'll go behind my back and send her own agenda back to them and not even tell me of the changes or modifications she's making. I know there is going to be a major problem because she's incredibly jealous that this girl is getting married to begin with, while she feels that it's not fair - it should be her turn. How do I tactfully tell her to back off without losing my cool and telling her to go stage steal someone else's event? It's not about her, it's about the girl that is getting married. If she wanted to help, it would be one thing but she'll send out emails behind my back, notifying everyone that SHE is running the event and everyone is like W.T.F.?

Talk to her on the side after work & tell her how you feel and ask her to please be a bit more nicer.

Nothing you can do but confront her and try to be nice. Obviously this girl is starved for attention. If you step up to her, she'll probably be embarrassed and back off.

I can guarantee that if you confront her she'll wimp out and stop the crap. These kinds of people can't handle confrontation, which is why they do the behind the back bull ever chance they can get.

I think she deserves a beating!!!

Maybe telling her that she is not helping by going around your back and she's making herself look like an ASS and that working with you instead of against you would be a better way to get the attention she so desparately craves (you can leave the last part off if you want )

if the B*tch only works 2 days a week, tell everyone your plans on one of the other days. Politely tell the girl that the bride is your friend, and you are making ALL the arrangements for the shower.

The one I liked the best was the one that said the date and time changed and that WE were taking her out for 'beers' after work! Can you believe?

I say the next time she e-mails the others her 'ideas' have them print them for you & then confront her. So you have it in B & W.
