I have been driving my MOH and my BMs crazy with changing my mind every week with the BM dresses. Bear in mind 2 of them are pregnant and due any time between now and the 1st week of October. I was getting scathing emails and hearing it from my family to just stop and pick one dress already!! To be honest it was driving me crazy too.
Some of you remember my last jaunt when I went with my MOH and 2 BMs. One of my BMs drove me crazy (she's my best friend & has never been in a wedding before). She is concerned about covering up her small belly even though she is skinny. So I have relegated to finding a dress that will flatter everyone, including the 2 BMs will still have post-pregnancy weight on them
So finally I have it down to 2 dresses. I'm trying them both on tomorrow since I am not skinny myself, and will let them know which one I choose. My BF emails me and says both dresses are for skinny women and not for people with fat stomachs (meaning herself which her stomach is far from fat!)
I wrote back explaining the situation, that everyone is frustrated and I am trying to accomodate everyone while keeping my sanity and that if I can wear a waist cinching corset, then she can wear a girdle, because even my perfectly bodied MOH is wearing one!!
Just when I feel like I have taken one step forward, she has now pushed me 3 steps back....someone stop me before I kill....

That would annoy me too. It sounds like you've done your best to find nice gowns for everyone. It sounds kind of impossible to pick a flattering gown for a girl who has a body image issue. Go with the gowns that the majority of the girls like.

Sorry you have to deal with this.

Re: Please stop me from killing my BM
Can I recommend something? How about picking a color and letting them find their own dress...let them pick a style that suits them...you don't want unhappy BM's. I had 3 girls, all completely different bodies and they wore different dresses and different lenghts...they looked beautiful and very much like they were in the same BP and were so happy!
Otherwise...breathe and try to relax...

That was my original plan....let them pick their own dresses from one designer as long as it was chiffon, floor length and red.
I think if after trying on both dresses tomorrow I don't like either one, then this is what I will have to do.

2 of the girl's dresses were made by my mom and the other was bought off the rack the day of the wedding...so the colors don't match perfectly and it's certainly not the same 'lot' but you'll realize soon enough that this is not what it's important...don't stress!

Re: Please stop me from killing my BM
I have a fuller figure and have been in 5 bridal parties. Dress shopping was always very stressful... I always prayed for something with sleeves..
I understand that as brides we have the right to have our bm where something that is what we like..however there is def. a dress that is out there to satisfy everyone's needs.
I hope this helps..just trying to be honest..
Oh and by the way..for my sisters wedding we used Jordans..they have a nice selection of two pieces..tops/skirts etc.. and they were really flattering on all of the girls...
Good Luck!

Re: Please stop me from killing my BM
I had my BP pick different dresses - same manufacturer. They range in size from negative 2 to 16. The size 16, as self-conscious as she is, was grateful for the opportunity to choose what she liked. Ideally, she would have preferred something with a sleeve but, as we both agreed, many of the dresses with sleeves, to us, looked dowdy and matronly. She did what she (and I both)thought was a fair compromise, and chose a simple style requesting a shawl to cover what she considers to be her trouble spots - her arms (which are not bad AT ALL mind you). I am now, however, getting shawls for everyone because if one gets a shawl, they all get shawls.

I know I'm waiting until after tomorrow. If the verdict is I don't like either dress, I'm letting them pick their own dresses from the Jordan line or seperates from Impressions (which would be funny because we had Impression at my brother's and cousin's weddings!)

Just tell them if they don't quit it, you will make them all wear this: (yes I know SOMEONE thought this was a great idea but...)
You have my utmost sympathy, as I am doing the same thing to by MOH and BM. In my case however the three of them all live in different states, so I keep e-mailing pics and asking for opinions (which I am not getting). I finally dragged my MOH to a bridal shop and had her try on a few, and then sent the others to find a shop in their states to try on the one she liked. It has been over a week and I haven't heard comments from either one of them.

I would like to think it was, but sadly, the monogrammed dresses would indicate otherwise. I picked up this picture from another post a while back. It was not meant to offend anyone who may choose a monogrammed BM dress. I accept full responsibility for my actions.

LMAO And I don't care who on this board thought it was a good idea, I would laugh anyway!!!!
I'm sorry the monograms on the dresses is taking the monogram thing wayyyyy too far. You may as well be advertising!! Why not just take up a billboard or have a banner in front of your hall??!!
And the huge flowers on the head? I've seen flower wreaths that do look nice, but that is just too much!!!
Somehow I knew I could count on Leslie to make me laugh!!

I am truly a warped, twisted individual, just ask Jen. Though she can't type well because of the cone on her finger!
