FI is concerned it's a lot of sightseeing and very little relaxing time. What do you think? I think we get to do both b/c we're on a cruise ship. I really want to go on this cruise but he's not loving it :( Your comments are totally appreciated.
OPTION #1: 1 Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy 2 Naples/Capri, Italy 3 Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Italy 4 Cannes, France 5 Barcelona, Spain 6 At Sea 7 Gibraltar 8 Casablanca (Marrakech), Morocco 9 Seville (Cadiz), Spain 10 Lisbon, Portugal 11 Vigo (Santiago de Compostela), Spain 12 At Sea 13 Paris/Normandy (Le Havre), France 14 Rotterdam, The Netherlands 15 Brussels/Bruges (Zeebrugge), Belgium 16 London (Southampton), England
With option #1, to make it more relaxing I was thinking of arriving a few days before the cruise takes off and spending a few days in Rome
With option #2, we can fly a few days early and spend time in Venice before the cruise departs and then stay in Barcelona after the cruise.
Which do you like? Reasons why?

Re: Please Take This Poll
i like option two.
Shorter itinerary and i went on that exact cruise and the stops are incredible especially greece...i get excited just thinking about how much fun we had =) I would never do a 16 day cruise even though that cruise seems incredible...but thats just me...some people are cruise people and love it, i enjoy it aslong as its not longer than a week and a half MAX.

I voted 1 and the only reason (b/c I would do both if I could) is b/c my in laws have said that Italy is gorgeous but it has gone down in beauty since they were there.

WOW they both sound great actually, i wanna look into this, we said we might do another cruise this summer but hmmm were saving for a wedding lol.
Well with 1 you do get to see more places, so if thats what you are looking for then 1 is a good option...2 goes to amazing places too and if your Fh isnt too thrilled about a cruise then maybe a shorter trip would be idea...you cant go wrong though.

I think we are doing cruise 2! We are doing a med cruise as well and I am so excited. Let your FH know that Cruises are relaxing and so is sight seeing! You will both have such a blast!

I pick option one.. Only because I would like those cities you would be stopping at more…And it seems like option one offers more…Plus going to Morocco is amazing! Ive been there, and it was an EXPERIENCE!!!!

Re: Please Take This Poll
Either way you'll be arriving before the cruise comes. Whether you see Rome or Venice either package is good, It all boils down to which city you prefer to spend more time in!!! XOXOXO Kitty

I think if you are going to do that type of cruise, you should do option one and see as much as you can. Rome is a wonderful city so going a few days earlier would be ideal. I think that you will really enjoy many of the stops on the first one. I have been to many of them and they are fabulous! Tough choice but I would go with option 1. Good luck. I wish I could do that for my honeymoon.

they both sound amazing.... but in my experience, when you're on a cruise and you're visiting all of these AMAZING places with so many different sights to see, the whole trip does end up being sight-seeing with little relaxation time (besides the time spent on the cruise ship). we were originally considering a cruise to the meditteranean and greek islands (santorini, mykonos, etc) but then decided against it since all of our previous vacations together have been to places where we've only done sightseeing and little relaxing. i think that with such a limited time in each place, you're going to want to see everything there is to see, you're not going to want to really sit and hang out on a beach... JMO!
we were in madrid/barcelona for 2 weeks in 2005, and we STILL spent most of our time sight-seeing, and little time relaxing. that's just my opinion though!
however, both cruises sound amazing.... and i would be happy going on either! i'm actually a little jealous i just know that for us, we wanted a honeymoon of pure relaxation..... also, i thought you were considering tahiti/moorea/bora bora? what happened??

Re: Please Take This Poll
I picked #1 bc I am a little scared of going to Turkey. My FIl's went last year and a day b4 they flew in there was an explosion at the airport. I know every country has their own issues but the one in Turkey sticks out in my head.

I picked No. 2 because it seems there will be more time to relax.....that way, you get what you really are looking forward too and your FI gets the relaxing time that he's looking forward too
They both sound amazing though! You can't go wrong!!!

Thanks for your input. I was considering tahiti etc....but realized that two weeks is going to get a bit too relaxing and maybe even border on boring ..... I dunno..... still confused.
