Please tell me that spending....

Please tell me that spending....

over $1500 on 190 invites is too much!

I love the invites I chose last week through a person that a friend recommended.

I got her quote last night and it's over $1500. This is not only for the invite but includes printed calligraphy for all, assembling and mailing (does not include postage), she'd make sure they get hand cancelled.

I was looking at Davids' bridal and the invite that I like there comes out to about 1/3 of the price bust doesn't include everything else, like the printing and mailing, assembly, etc.

Please help me!

Re: Please tell me that spending....

It sounds high, but it depends on the invites and since it is all otgether it is probably right for an invite that is a bit on the higher end

Re: Please tell me that spending....

IT really all depends on what you are geting, the type of invitation, materials, type of printing etc!!
$1500 for 190 invites is about $7.90/ Invitation. WIth everythign else they are doing computer calliigraphy etc, as long as they aren't printed on really bad paper it sounds like a good deal. Again, its all about the style of invitation, printing process and quality of materials being used!

In all honesty, it's alot (In my opinion). If you have the money I say go for it but I just ordered invites for $600 and after I got them I had to pay for postage and stuff and it came to ALOT of money and now that they are out.....I find myself wishin I had spent even LESS!!!! It sounds so great b/c the invites are pretty and all but only you can decide if it's worth it. ****Just trying to give you the other perspective**** xoxoox!!!! Good Luck!

Show me what you're looking at.

I have an AMAZING vendor that I've been working with and she is phenomenal. What style do you like?

Just to give you guys some insight on the invite.

It's 'like' a pocket fold invitation. There is a ribbon that goes around it creating a 'faux' pocketfold. It's prininted on a luster (shimmery) stock and layerd with a matted stock and there will be a raised monogram on the outside on the ribbon. The response card and envelope, reception card and direction card will be printed on a matte stock, and put into the faux pocketfold. The outer envelope will be matte stock with no liner. The pringint on the invite is not raised printing.

I think that's insane.

I spent about 200 dollars on my invites (and that's with re-ordering because I forgot to put his last name )

I personally think it's a waste of money- but to each his own.

That is alot, but it depends on what you are willing to spend.
I am spending around $400 for 125. For me there is no way, and with so many invites I would be looking to cut costs. But thats just my opinion...

Re: Please tell me that spending....

Honestly, I feel that's way too expensive. But that's just me. Here's why I think this:

-computer calligraphy should not be expensive...Inkspun does inner & outer envelopes for $0.88 per set. With the $8 set up fee, it would cost $175.20 for your 190 invites.

Assembling you can do yourself...it's not rocket science!!!!

And hand-cancelling...if you have your heart set on it, can you take the invites to a post office and ask tem to hand cancel them.

Try to bargain down the price.
