ETA - There are 7 options - all numbered.

I have been up playing with the Jean M web site for invitations myjeanm.com

We have not picked a definite date or hall yet (villa lombardi's and Giorgios are in the top 4)but I got the 10th anniversay Martha Stewart and couldn't wait to start --- so here goes.

I came up with these ideas for my purple theme.

Number 1
Platinum bottom card
Grape top card
Platinum ink
Platinum bottom ribbon
grape top ribbon

Number 2
Grape bottom card
White top card
grape ink
grape bottom ribbon
white top satin ribbon

Number 3
white bottom card
grape top card
white ink
white bottom ribbon
grape top ribbon

Thanks ladies.

Actually, the darker ones are not black though. They are grape. Not sure what they will look like once I get them (sample) but I'm hoping for a deep purple like on my screen.

Okay, we firm lawyers must think alike because the 'Jean' invite is the one that's currently at the top of my list Ours is a black bottom, princess pink invite, black grossgrain thick ribbon, and princess pink satin bow. Good choices!! I voted for # 1

ETA: I think #1 is the most elegant, probably because of the silver writing on dark paper--it looks great!

Great minds think alike. It's a very elegant invite and matches well with all of my top 4 halls.

Did you get a sample? Is the paper heavy? I wnat more than 80 lb card stock - maybe even more than 110 lb.

I like the silver writing too (and the white writing) ont he darker background. It just seems a little more formal than the white with grape or orchid ink.

We'll see once I get the samples in though.

Did you get ink samples too? I asked via e-mail but have not heard back yet.

I like #1 or #3 it stands out really well. I have a hard time seeing the ones with a white background and the one with gray lettering is hard for me to read also.

The samples from Jean M are a little weird. The samples are $5 which is a lot considering that they don't even send you a sample of the invite--they send you a 'color kit' which has your choice of 4 different colored papers and 4 different ribbons (you can mix & match grossgrain and satin).

The paper felt rather thick but I'm not sure what the weight was. They had the words 'Jean M.' along with something else written on the front of the paper in thermographic ink, which was good but a little shiny in my opinion.

It's been rather difficult though finding 'different' invitations (i.e. something other than white or ecru single panels) in paper that is really thick or from companies that do anything but flat printing. So, Jean M is still in the running but I do have concerns about not having an ACTUAL invitation to look at.

The Jean invites that you and I are considering are 5'x7' in case you were curious.

Yes, I was curious about the size. It's not one the website although there is tons of info about each piece that little tidbit is left out.
