I say yeah bring it on lol my friends had this and the last hour was a blast...it was basically those who like to party which was all the friends..and we got to hang with bride and groom which was great (esp for big weddings lol) anyone who is tired can go home lol

sorry to not clarify -- this is including cocktail hour

so let's say a 6 hour reception would include:

cocktail hour

dinner

vienesse, etc

i said this in my previous post - our CH is 1 1/2hours long and our reception is 4 1/2 hours long - so total for both is 6 hours and we have it in our contract that we can go into OT...we are going to try and do the VH as early as possible so that once its over we can really start partying - i think we'll end up going about 1/2 hour longer and ending at 1 am...we have the crowd for a late/party hard wedding....also my FH and I are big partiers/dancers so its really for us too - we dont want the night to end - even if there are only 20 people up dancing with us the party will go on

lolol that is how i feel but im so nervous to put the go ahead in the contract because of the extra $$!

i know that all our drunk asses will prob be binging on sweets lolol

also -- you know i had a pretty big engagement party and it was only 4 hours. let me tell you -- i dont even REMEMBER what happened during it.

this is part of the reason why i got stuck on extending it.

seriously -- the 4 hours felt like 20 minutes!!!!

about halfway thru the party i forgot to even get another cocktail because i got so caught up in talking to ppl & we had a magician there, etc.

we want to have a performer also @ our wedding so we know that will take away time

my ceremony and reception is from 7-1AM normally. i also got something similar to your VH package added on and they wanted to extend the party an extra hour which i thought was too long so we worked it out where the desserts would still come in and the party would still end at 1AM like scheduled (this also gave me a discount on the add-on since i wasnt doing the extra hour). i just didnt think people would stay till 2am...however, im really excited about this! i think its a great add-on esp bc we love dessert. oh, i also got the photobooth lol.

if our eparty is any indication of what our wedding will be like then our wedding is going to be pretty wild people partied hard and it was a sunday night! so this is why im not worried about having a long reception

Mine was 6 1/2 hours total and it went by so fast. Everyone had a great time and the people that had to leave early, left, but most people stayed til the end.

i know what you are saying! we had ours @ a lounge & ppl stood there for another 1.5 hours or so...and then the party moved to our apt which was till like 3am....

okay i really think im going to confirm it w the rh today!!!!
