Mine as from 1 - 7 pm, including cocktail. most everyone stayed, but we did have some people leave the last hour. for me though, it was toally worth it....

Ours was 6:30 till 11:30. I think 6hrs is fine, especially if that includes cocktail AND Viennese.

We're beginning the cocktail hour around 6pm and go until 2am! In our culture, weddings are generally two days and parties/celebrations last long into the evening. We are doing a second round of hour'doeurves around 11:30pm. Also, if you go longer thank a standard 5 hours I would recommend still doing your cake cutting, garter toss etc. at the same time as a 5 hour wedding. My thought.....frame your longer event as having an 'after party' in the program or menu. This way, folks who are ready to head out don't feel obligated. My family and friends are super excited to literally dance the night away!

I added an hour and a half to my reception. So, it is going to be 6.5 hours. I always feel like weddings end too quickly... it always goes so fast! I think more time is better!
