Will anyone be having plus sized BMs. What dresses are you thinking of having them wear. I want her to feel comfortable but I don't want the dresses to look like MOB dresses either. Any suggestions?

Re: Plus size BMs
I have girls from size 0 - 18. I went back and fourth a million times. Here are a few tips I learned while picking the dress:
1. Stay away from strapless 2. Go with A-line or Ballgown 3. Becareful with certian materials 4. Remember certian colors are not forgiving
You can see the dress I selected, it's in my pictures. My colors are black and white so the BM dresses will be black. I actually went to try it on and I think I am a good middle of all of my girls and the dress looked GREAT!!!! I loved it!!

Another option is empire waist...i dont have any plus size bms but i have been to a few weddings where the girls were plus size and the bride chose empire waist dresses...they look beautiful...also, its a help in case any of your girls get pregnant!

Oooh who designs that BM dress? It's beautiful! My colors are going to be burgundy. My BM has already been in weddings where she's worn that color so that's why i'm choosing it.

LOL and a few of the other girls do have a good chance of becoming pregnant too. They're getting married right before me. The empire waist is a good idea too THANKS.

i was a plus size BM at my bffs wedding, and the dress she chose was INCREDIBLE.
it made me feel very very comfortable, and it was extremely slimming. i have a picture of it if youd like to see it, just let me know.
the dress was strapless but i had spaghetti straps added so the top would stay up, i got the dress much bigger than i needed, but didnt want to pay an arm and a leg for alterations.
then it had this pin on the side of it, and the material was like.. sideswept into the pin. it was gorgeous!

What is even considered plus size anymore? My biggest BM is a size 14. I made sure that the dress I picked looked good on everyone. This dress has an asymetrical waistline which is very slimming and it doesn't cling to the hips which is good because some of my girls are hippy. I'm getting it in black.
Don't worry... no matter what you'll always be the best looking than anyone on your wedding day

I love this one too. I'm not sure what's considered plus size but my BM is bigger than size 14. I'm really trying to make her feel comfortable with her weight but i just don't know how. She was looking at dresses like this
It's cute, but to me, it looks more like a MOB dress than a BM dress.

Re: Plus size BMs
I have some plus size BM's and I picked black a-line dresses. And, I picked David's Bridal because they go up to high sizes and have coverage options. The dress I chose is in my album.

Re: Plus size BMs
i don't even know what plus size is anymore because I am not a plus size in normal streetwear.. but in a dress I seem to be on the 14-16 area..which some are calling plus size... when i ususally wear a 10... Either way I am just trying to find a dress taht will be FORGIVING FOR ANY SHAPE AND SIZE I am also going for a european red color.. whic I think will look nice on all of my girls

Re: Plus size BMs
I disagree about the strapless, my girls are wearing strapless gowns and 3 of them ordered plus sizes but the gowns really compliment their bodies and if it's properly altered strapless isn't a problem at all. If they feel self conscious about their arms, they can use a shawl - sometimes sleeves or straps can draw more attention to arms and upper body especially if it doesn't compliment their shape.

I disagree too about staying away from strapless ....
I had girls of all different shapes and sizes (1 plus size, 2 were pregnant). We used Bill Levkoff 966 and it looked fantastic on everyone!

Re: Plus size BMs
We haven't actually gone to try dresses on yet, but I picked out a couple online and they all agreed on this one. It has some rusching in the middle so that kind of camaflauges! Its an After Six.
