I want to start looking at wedding dresses outside of David's Bridal.. But I am unsure of what places carry plus size gowns that I will be able to try on and not try to squeeze into.
I am a street size 20 and when I tried on dresses at Davids Bridal I was between a 20 and 22.
If you can please suggest places in Queens or Nassau?? If not, I'll drive out to Suffolk as well.

If you search for 'Plus Size Brides' there will be some info that pops up but from there I have heard that:
Lilletes in Bellmore has lots to try on Paradise Bridal - I think Patchoge Bridal Reflections - Massapequa and Carl Place

i went to Demetrios in Macy's Mall in Lake Grove they had plus size and thats were i got my gown!

I just got mine at Lillette's and I'm around the same size. They had a ton to try on. There is a dress company, I want to say its Jade Couture or Jasmine Couture, they make the sample dresses with like 6 zippers so anyone from a 16 to a 26 can try on one gown. it's pretty cool.

i got my dress at paradise bridals in patchogue. they had a lot of plus size dresses to try on. there is also a plus size bride thread on here. i know there were dress places mentioned in there. i will see if i can find it and bump it for you.

I got my dress in Bridal suite in Centereach - they were wonderful! They have a ton of dresses in all plus sizes. I actually tried on a dress that was a 14 and I am about a 20 but it had a corest back so don't just think you need to just try on plus size gowns!
Good luck I was really nervous at first but after a couple of dresses I was excited!

RK Bridal & The Bridal World in Baldwin had a nice selection of Plus size ...many corset back so even if it doesn't totally fit they can still lace it up for you to get the effect
