Plus Size Brides...
Where did you get your dress?I went to Davids and found a dress, but wanted something less plain. I went to Macys in Manhasset and found a few things, but many of the dresses werent my size, so it was difficult to see what it would actually look like. Help! Thanks!

Re: Plus Size Brides...
I'm actually going to order my dress online. I went to David's and tried on different styles of dresses to see what would look best on me, and from there I looked for dresses that were the same style. There are several designers who make dresses for plus sized brides (Alfred Angelo, Eden Bridals, and Venus Bridals, Emme--just to name a few). Perhaps you could find a bridal shop that carries these designers and try on other dresses.

Re: Plus Size Brides...
I bought mine in the Bridal suite of Patachogue, not to be confused with paradise bridal. They had a whole room of plus size dresses. A lot of size 18s and 20s even some 26s. HTH.

I got mine at Bridal Suite of patchogue too.
I would recommend getting it altered elsewhere tho unless you make sure 100000% it will be done with Lucia.

Re: Plus Size Brides...
Any places in Queens or Brooklyn? I haven't ordered my dress yet and haven't even looked because I want to lose alot of weight and I am afraid that if I order a bigger size and get it altered alot it will change the look of the dress. Is this true???

I got mine at Flowerama in Glendale. Unfortunatley the ones I tried on were about 2-4 sizes too small for me but they ordered me one in my size. I found that RK Bridal in the city had a large selection of plus sizes.

I'm a plus size and I tried on some really nice gowns at Lillette's in Baldwin. You can even ask for Christina G. (make an appt. for undivided attention). Tell her the May 21, 2005 bride sent you. They carry Maggie Sottero gowns - they are beautiful, different, and very flattering to plus sizes (Maggie has gowns that make your waist look unbelievably small). Hope that helps.

Re: Plus Size Brides...
Has anyone had any luck with any Eve of Milady or Demetrios dresses?? I REALLY want to get a dress with one of those designers. I wear either a 13-14 or 15-16 pants but I heard wedding gowns run small so I would prob have to get a different size?

I had the same problems. None of the stores had a lot of dresses in my size. I ended up orderign one on line and just sent them my measurements. It worked out great.

Re: Plus Size Brides...
i know this won't really help... but maybe someone will be in the area. Out by my parents (in the poconos) there's a few really great Plus Size places. That's why I ended up getting my dress out there. If anyone is actually interested just FM me for more info.
