Stacy I have been to 2 lingerie and sex toy parties and they are a blast

I actually used one of the vendors on here, believe me the shy ones are the ones who are more into it.

How are the fake bags? I never bought a fake LV or any fake bag.

Re: Pocketbook parties....

Some of the wallets weren't fake. they had LV papers and serial numbers in them. My real Coach is IDENTICAL to the fake ones that she had. And the same goes for the Tiffany jewelry. DAWNIE bought us all TIffany bracelets, and there was no difference in what she had.

Re: Pocketbook parties....

I am having one on the 23rd if you want to come, it's at my mothers in Lynbrook.

The little old lady will try to talk you in to having one...I am glad I did though, I had fun at the last one I had.

Nowadays, it's hard to tell the real from the fake, the copies are so good. I know that the knockoff LVs are now even made with the same leather that oxidizes, just like the real ones. They also have the same but just because they have serial numbers and tags, doesn't mean they're real.
I think that the word that's being used now is that they're 'replicas' of the real thing.

A $600 bag for $60 or even $100 is a copy. The places that source out to handbag parties will always state on their websites that even though the bags are 'nearly identical' they're still considered copies. I assume this is to avoid any type of copyright infringement.
There are several online sites that sell 'replica' LV bags. Weird thing is, they're not cheap. Good copies can run upwards of $150.

Here's some examples:
http://www.allaboutbags.com/ourbags.html
http://www.bagfetish.com/
http://www.mydesignersecret.com/about.htm
http://www.sell.com/2HTJ3

I've never bought a fake bag, but I can honestly say that the knockoffs are getting so good that if you're not bothered by the fact that it's a copy then it's worth it to save the hundreds of dollars.

Re: Pocketbook parties....

For us, yeah...but not for the ones buying the replicas LOL

While I don't mind knockoffs, and I understand that the money I spend is ridiculous, I just happen to be one of those people that would be bothered if I KNEW that what I was carrying wasn't real. Luckily, my husband feels the same way. He'd rather give me $500 to buy the authentic, then save $400 on a copy. To each their own.

Re: Pocketbook parties....

Actually< I work at Customs and I know for a fact that alot do come out of the same factory. (They are worth about $30 a piece) WHat they do is sell the same bags with teh same logo's to people, and when they get to teh US, teh stick a Burberry or Coach tag on it. They are identical to the real thing. The real things get serial numbers and logo's from teh overseas factory beacsye they are allowed to license their bags as Kate Spade, COach, Gucci, etc...

There is no counterfeiting this way unless teh style of teh bag was patented. However, falsifying the trademark is illegal. Importing a bag from the same factory is not.

I am happy with my 1 or 2 real bags.

(ETS: A knock off is still a knock off, if you didn't pay for teh real thing, you still bought a knock off...
all I am saying is that most are teh same quality of bag....)

Susans- you know what is so funny about that gingerpipe site- some of the tiffanys bracelets cost more than they do from the real site. The venetian link is only $80 from tiffany's
