Ok guys...help me out here!! I am crazed with do it yourself ideas. For those of you who have created your own do it yourself pocketfold invites, a few questions. #1: how much did it cost you approximately per invite? This is my idea. Im having a black and white wedding. I would do either black pocketfold with white invite with black double hearts on top of it. Then i would put a white satin ribbon to tie it together with some sort of a decoration on it. any ideas or suggestions???

hmm im making them but im trying to think of what it will actually cost per invite and im not sure...its $1 a pocketfold, then u need cardstock for the invite hmm thats like $10 a pack of 50 i think...then ribbon which is like $3 a spool and whatever decoration on top..im going to say maybe $4 an invite? i guess it depends what u put in it but im sure its still cheaper then having it done and ull get it exactly how u want it

this is what i did... I bought pocketfolds in packs of 25 for $18 a pack I ordered 125 custom printed invites from Invitations By Dawn which after shipping and tax cost less than $125
I am using the other side of our card fold invites to print our own reception cards. so they are 'free'
We are ordering 100 free Postcards from vistaprint as our RSPV (we might order 2 sets of 100 depending on how much it is for 25 postcards) We will add our own design which is like $4.95 and shipping is less than $10
we bought ribbon on sale for $1 for a 5yd role we bought 12 roles I believe.
backing paper we got on sale at AC Moore. we spent $11 total
so.... that comes to... $237.95 I estimated a lot of those prices, and I think i actually over estimated to be safe.
If you buy a DIY kit for the invites you will save yourself a ton of money right there instead of ordering them like we did.
Our pocketfolds are quite large... we have yet to buy envelopes for them. I'm hoping we can figure out a way to secure the invite enough to possibly mail it without an envelope.
We also bought a wax seal and sealing wax.... but we were going to buy it anyway so i didn't put that in the invite budget.

totally depends on what u use, and what kind of invite u'r trying to make.. my invites would have cost a bundle to order.. i made them for say... $9 an invite.. still sort of pricey for a DIY, but there is a lot goign on with them...

Here's what I paid
Metallic Pocketfold $1.60 each 8X10 Card Stock $30 for 500 sheets (i'll use this for programs, menu, etc.) Envelopes $19.20 per 100
So about $2.09 per invite.

I made my pocketfolds and they came to less than $3.00 a piece..I think like 2.80 or something like that...for the the types of invites i made I definately made out as far as money goes....feel free to FM me on how I made them...there are pics of them in my album
