anyone know what to look for in these poker sets? the more weight the better I guess makes them more like the real casino chips?....I looked on amazon and ebay and there are so many that I'm just a tad bit confused I want to get a decent set but not too expensive.

One year I got my dad a set from Target. All it needs to have are lots of chips. The Target set came with chips and cards and it was all in a holder.
He just likes to play with us or friends every now and than. I know some sets come with the table cloth thing...etc.

The chips should be made of clay and at least 9.5 grams but 11.5 is better. How much are you looking to spend?

I got my FH a set from Brookstone... they were great! Definately make sure they are clay!

I would like to keep it under $100. I noticed most seem to go up to the 11.5 grams which is what I was aiming for. I want to get the good 'casino-like' ones. I noticed alot of them say 'clay composition' or 'clay-like'. Is this ok or should it be 100% clay? thanks for the replies

My SO is big into this poker craze so he wanted poker chips for Christmas. We went to a lot of different places and learned that the majority of companies don't make all clay chips anymore, but use clay composite in them. I actually just ordered (and received) the 11.5 gram chips 650 chips in 5 colors (he wanted 500) with an aluminum case, dealer button and 2 decks of cards for $99.99 on overstock.com. Shipping was around $2 too! Let me know if you want more info.

My mom got my DH a set from Budwiser.com...unfortunately they are backordered until 12/21 so she is just going to give him a picture of them in a card until they come in..
