We have done it for like 5 months.
Our wedding is like 4 months away and honestly the initmacy is amazing. We just felt that it would make our night even more special.

WOW, I'm shocked...

7.04% haven't had sex & will not before the wedding!!! I was sure that would be 0.

Good for you girls!!! Happy Honeymoon!!!

we lived together and so we abstained for a month before the wedding as a commitment to each other. And then the first married night was even better!!

Re: Poll: Abstinence before the wedding

We are going over a little over a month now and we get married in 2 weeks. MY FH is pretty pissed at me. But, I think it will be even more exciting our wedding night! Anywho, I do not feel sexy right now. For our HOneymoon in Hawaii, I plan to get brazilian, legs, and underarms waxed next week and lets just say ....it's not a pretty sight. So even if I changed my mind right now, I so modest that I wouldn't want FH to see me this way. (even after 6 years of dating) LOL He won't marry me!!! LOL

I know of 3 ladies who have gotten pregnant while on the pill, the shot, and the patch. And they were taking the medication as told.

The shot is 99.9% effective. She likely would tell people she got the shot when she was supposed to.

Tell her to play lottery too, if she really did as she should have. It's less than 1 in 100 people who get pregnant while on the shot. I believe the pill is 3 in 100, and patch is the same.

Not sure. We haven't discussed it yet. Although I know FH will not be amused

Re: Poll: Abstinence before the wedding

well, the longest we've gone without it has been 8 MONTHS, 8 very, very long
months (this was when he was in Iraq) I don't think I could talk him into
any abstinence after that!!!!!!!!!!! and frankly I don't think I would be able to
either. But everyone is right, the last week or two before the wedding we are
going to be so busy, we probably won't have time to look at each other!!!
Although I do have to admit, after those 8 months it felt like fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 'wedding night' seems to have lost it's lustor...no pun intended...

I think it's gonna be great...abstinence makes the heart grow fonder...and other things, as well!!

Re: Poll: Abstinence before the wedding

I think that a week might be tops. I would go for a week before the wedding with no nookie. No way could we do a month. No way.

And I do think that the poster who wrote that the wedding night has lost its luster is 100% correct. From talking to different people who are already married, some of them went straight to sleep after the wedding because they were too mentally and phsically exhausted from the preparations and the actual wedding day itself.

My FW wants to continue the party at the hotel after the reception.. the reception ends at 11:30pm.. and I know me.. I want to party too with my friends.. but after that, I could pass out when we go back to the bridal suite.

Then again.. a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do... OH YEAH!! LOL

The honeymoon is a great time and place to make up for all of it.. and then some!

Probably although we haven't really discussed it yet. The longest for us was 6 weeks in between seeing each other when our realtionship was long distance, so I know we could do it. I am not sure he will want to

<---------Result of being on the pill

I agree with everyone who said the wedding night has lost its lustor... Sooo many people spend so much money and time and effort, that they are physically exhausted on their wedding night. Do a search on Newlyweds and see how many Newlyweds DIDN't have Nookie on their big night.... You'd be surprised! Congrats to the small percentage of people that were able to abstain 110% before marriage! That really is something that is not valued as much as it should be!!!

Re: Poll: Abstinence before the wedding

Before our wedding, I brought up the subject about abstaining for a month, FH was agreeable but wanted less time. In the end I think we did end up abstaining for a month, but it was due to wedding planning stress (last minute planning and arguing over wedding preparations) rather than a conscious effort.

I had brought it up once, but I'm not really sure if we could do it. Plus, sex helps lower stress levels-------and how stressful is planning a wedding?

That's good logic there, Lovely L.

Re: Poll: Abstinence before the wedding

This is a good topic; fh will be moving in around April (his lease is up around that time); and we've agreed that once he moves in, there will be no fooling around until after the big day. I don't want us to start pretending we're married before we are married.

Now, we've put it out there, I just hope I can stick to the plan

FH and I once gave it up for Lent. Maybe we will do that again this year and just extend it to the wedding. The build up was amazing!!
