I'm stuck....are you going to your cocktail hour or are you waiting to join the party until afterwards when you get formally introduced for the first time??

DH and I would have loved to attend our coctail hour, but we didn't because we needed that opportunity to take pictures together. DH and I didn't want to see each other before the church so after we got to the RH we had only about 20 minutes until the CH started. We eneded up taking pictures through most of the wedding so we missed most of it. We got a small chance to eat, and if we weren't dancing and mingling, we were outside taking pictures. It goes by so fast... You'll be surprised how many things you want to accomplish but don't have the time to do.

We were fortunate to have enough time between church and cocktail hour to take lots of pictures- since we did not want to see eachother beforehand... and we were able to make it to the cocktail hour.
What my DOC and bridal attendant suggested that day, was to go into the bridal suite-eat whatever I wanted- and they were great about having so many things for us...and then go to the cocktail hour to greet guests- It worked out perfectly...because when we went to the cocktail hour there was no eating for us- I had a few Oysters and clams on a half shell- thats it!
We were saying hello to everyone which was great because it saved us the time in our reception...
We did not want to miss our party- plus we love cocktail hours- it was a perfect opportunity to greet guests AND we still were formally introduced at the reception!

i said no b/c i am not seeing fh b4 the ceremony...that leaves after the ceremony to take pics of us 2gether. we're having the ceremony and reception at the RH so b4 ceremony i am taking solo pics and pics with my girls and mom and dad. we'll have a mini CH though for the BP.

see the only reason im having the CH is becuase it comes with my package. Our family as going to meet at my E-party so they will know each other already

not sure yet, first it depends if we'll even be back in time from taking pictures...also then have to think about it, i think i want to wait until our entrance, it will be nice to relax for a little if we get the chance...ill be getting ready from morning, then the ceremony, then running around take pics, would be nice to hang out in the bridal suite for a little with FH and BP, sit down and have a little to eat and then after i recoup can go out and party for a few more hours

I figure it is costing me a fortune for that one hour so I might as well enjoy it. Also - I can get all my hellos out of the way and enjoy the reception.

The CH is the best part, I put sooo much into it so I def dont want to miss it. Also I will be able to meet and greet most of my guests so I wont have to do that later

From what i've been told from a lot of people, after the ceremony, you need to spend some time alone with your new hubby. I think we're going to go to the bridal suite for maybe a half hour, alone & then maybe, (not sure about this yet) have the bridal party come in for their gifts and then join it. At the Fox Hollow, our cocktail hour will be an hour and a half, so we'll have plenty of time to join at some point..

Thanks girls....I think we are going to go to the CH. My FMIL doesn't think we should, but ya know what....I have a ton of people coming to this wedding and I don't want to use my entire reception greeting people. I figure, we have a few hours between the church and the CH so we can get the pics out of the way....then we will go to the CH and we can say hello to as many people as possible so that come time for the actual reception, we can enjoy it.

we're not because we want to have some alone time in the bridal suite and have our bridal attendent bring us food. our CH food is so good and i know if we go down there people will be talkin to us and we wont get to eat.

We had an hour and a half cocktail hour and went to part of it. We spent a little time in the bridal suite, just the two of us, and then we headed down to see some people.
I hid in the corner and was able to eat a little bit

We went to our cocktail hour. I didn't want to miss my own reception! We did the photos beforehand. We did miss a few minutes because we did the Jewish tradition of the yichud, where we went up to the bridal suite to be alone for a few minutes. That was very special, I recommend it to all couples, whatever your faith. A few minutes alone right after you've been married is magical.
That said, I loved my cocktail hour! I wanted to see how it was going, how it was presented. Never did get any of the hot food, but I did taste all the passed stuff, which was excellent. We weren't going to be introduced at all, but the Maitre'D talked us into it. I just felt that these were our guests, and why would they be enjoying a party while we were hiding upstairs until we were 'announced.' I wanted to be WITH the party! Maybe I'm just a party girl. But we had a great time.

we are definitely attending our ch... we have enough time to take pics b4 and we rather greet the guests there then having to go around to all the tables when we walk in
