POLL: Are you showing people your dress?

Original post by jam1223

When I went dress shoppping the woman told me that I shouldn't show anyone my dress, so everyone will be suprised when I walk down the aisle and not think 'oh yeah, there it is'

But that seems like it would be really hard to do, everyones always asking and I haven't even got one yet.

Just wondering if anyone is trying to keep it a secret and how thats working out so far?

My mom and MIL came when I picked it out but my mom was the only one that saw the final product.

I had trouble deciding on my dress, so the only ones who have really seen it aer my mom and my BM. (2 of them only saw pics, 1 saw it live). Only my mom has seen me in the dress after it came in.

The only people that have seen it are my MOH, mom, grandmother and aunt. When people ask about what it looks like, I say 'a wedding dress'! I want everyone to be surprised!!!

I showed some friends and family. I think that the dress looks different on you anyway than in some picture (unless you are showing a picture of you in the dress) so it will still be a surprise. It's hard to contain your excitement - why not share a little?

While I would love to flaunt it to the world beforehand...I am keeping it close knit.

I really don't want FH to see it.

My Mom, SIL and MIL were there when I got the dress. I showed a picture to my MOH, two of BM (the rest lived out of state) and my father and FIL. That's it.

My Mom told a few of her friends when I asked her not to b/c she got too excited and I was mad b/c they told a few what it looked like and it snowballed a little. Thankfully, on the actual day a few of those that heard through the grapevine said it looked nothing like they pictured. So I guess they didn't really know.
