POLL: At this moment, how do you feel about your gown?
Original post by sophie78
I would really appreciate it if only girls who purchased their gowns respond.
Thanks.

i don't really like it. probably because it doesn't fit. but i'm not happy with neckline.
word of advice: don't order the 'it is within our budget' dress, order the 'i look like a million bucks in this' dress. Trust me. I didn't heed this advice and I'm heartbroken

Right now I'm just hoping it comes in on time :) It's supposed to ship from manufacturer on Jan. 15 and arrive at shop 5-7 days later.
But, I did have some thoughts at the back of my head after we ordered it, thinking I didn't like it as much as I thought I did, but I went to try on the sample again and fell in love with it all over again.
Maybe you need to try on the gown again?

I am like you! I loved my gown when I was trying on dresses, but after I bought it, I began questioning my decision. My mom insists it is the right gown for me, but I still see other dreses that I like more. But, I have already paid for 1/2 of my dress, so there is not much I can do. Oh well
Yep, me too.
I had this whole big dress drama when I went to see it when it came in. I was devestated! But then I thought I was in love again.
Now, I am ambivelent. I feel like, 'eh, it'll do'. But, like you, I think it may be the stress of the whole thing is getting me down, because I feel that way about everything associated with this wedding right now!
When the time comes, when it all comes together, dress veil, hair etc., I think it will be love all over again!

I didn't have the 'its the one' moment, so I'm second guessing my choice. I loved it and I had a hard time chosing between the one I ordered and another one. I was kind of pressed for time (I was only in NY for a short amt. of time and going with my mom was a must for me and I may not be back in NY until next Dec.), so I think I was more nervous about not finding a gown or something. I only went to one salon, because at the time I thought that I would only go other places and try to find a gown similar to the one I had ended up ordering. That may have been the case, but I'll never know because its done. Also, the dress that I fell in love with online, I never got to try on, and I think I'm wondering if had it been in the store that day, would it have been the one? I'm just second guessing a lot of things including the reception hall because we are so pressed for time and we're only in NY a few times a year. After our church was booked 19 months in advance for our date, I feel like I have to get it all done now. Okay, I'm going to go and have a glass of wine now!!! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one feeling like this. It must just be the stress of this being a one time thing and feeling like we have only once chance to get it right!
I do love my dress, but I was just expecting the 'Its the one' moment. Oh well!!!

Love my dress. Crazy fiasco experience getting it, but that's the story of all my wedding planning. The picture I have doesn't do it justice, and its not online anywhere yet.

It's hanging in a closet at a friend's house, and I can't wait to go look at it again, and try it on again!!!

Re: POLL: At this moment, how do you feel about your gown?
i loved my dress when i tried it on.....but i didn't get tears in my eyes, so i was worried that maybe it wasn't the one (i'm very very emotional) then i waited for almost 9 months for it to come in....and all during that time i was second guessing my choice. the dress looks beautiful in pictures on the internet, and i had pictures of myself in it....but it wasn't the right size and i started to wonder. then last week, i went for my first fitting....and i realized why i bought it in the first place....it's amazing and i DO love it! It so helped that it was in the right size! GIve yourself a break.....try it on again and see what you think. It may make more difference than you think!

Holy crap, sorry so long!
I went through massive dress confusion too. I ordered a beautiful gown quite early on in my planning, it was gorgeous and I loved it, but for some reason I was never completely 'at peace' with my decision. I literally would go into panic mode every time I thought about the dress. I think I drove some of my friends crazy with my freak-outs. A few months later I stumbled upon a gown on the internet that just totally caught my eye, I was so drawn to it. I called the manufacturer (it was the same as my original gown) and located a store in the area that carried the sample. I went there, tried it on and it was even more amazing in person. I had that feeling of totally finding 'the one.' It was exactly what I thought I had wanted before I started looking, but didn't end up with. I went home and called my dress salon immediately and they were able to accomodate me. Since then, I have never doubted my decision or had any second thoughts. I am 'at peace' with my decision. In fact, I went dress shopping this past weekend with a friend who is getting married and I seen so many amazing dresses, but not one of them appealed to me more than mine.
I now realize that I had doubts from the very beginning about the first one. I remember walking through the parking lot back to my car after ordering the dress and thinking, 'oh my god, what have I done?' I think I got caught up in the moment and was anxious to order a gown, even though I had ample time.
So, it was my own personal experience that those feelings of doubt and panic are very significant, I made a wrong decision and my inner voice was letting me know that. I am so glad I took action!

i felt the same wa but i think that was from the fact of the first time it was tight when it came in then when i went to go see it again and it fit it was great and i fell in love with it all over! and now with the fittings started it's the best feeling ever!
