DJ's are the way to go ....I want to hear my favorite songs and especially OUR song the way I'm used to hearing it .
The only wedding Ive been to had a band and all the songs sounded the same. I think hearing the song that you hear on the radio or on a CD is way better than live music but thats j(ust)m(y)h(umble)o(pinion)

dj so we can hear the songs the way they sound.....there are some good bands out there though, but they cost so much more than a dj......

I think a band is more 'wedding' like... As for things like the Wedding song, or some other you really want, that could be played from a CD - that is what we are doing

DJ's are a lot less money so I think it depends on your budget... I have also heard with bands that the music is not going to sound like what everyone is use to hearing on the radio... but live music is awesome... its more a personal preference...

I personally prefer DJ's - I don't think that band's can produce the same variety of music....JMO

I voted DJ b/c thats what we are having BUT I think as long as its a REALLY GOOD band then bands are more exciting and add alot to the evening. But even if you have a really good band they always have their off nights or songs that just dont come out right. For that you can spend much less money and have a DJ and you dont really have to worry as much IMO
I wanted a bit of live music feel so we opted to have a DJ and a percussion player. We might add on a saxaphone player later if the budget allowes it.

I had both. I loved a few bands we saw, but they were just too far above our price range.
I had a DJ for the CH & most of the reception, then for DH's wedding gift (well part of it anyway) I hired a Swing Band that we saw on one of our first dates... They played for 1 hour & it was a lot of fun for our guests and a great break for the DJ to get some food!

we're having this thing where band members play along with the dj's music. I like hearing the oringinal singers sing, but I like the sound of the live instruments. I saw it at a wedding a few months ago and it was awesome.
