My hall provides bathroom attendants....I don't know, I've always been really annoyed by them. They bother me. I like to take my time washing my hands...I can get my own hand towel, and I just feel like they are sitting there staring at me waiting for a tip for doing nothing.
But, I feel like some people may like the idea of a bathroom attendant...plus, that would take one thing off my to-do list (I wouldn't have to do the bathroom baskets if I have a bathroom attendant there...I assume they have some supplies with them)....
What would you do? Bathroom attendant or no bathroom attendant? Do you expect a nice, classy place to have one, or is it just a bother?

they make me uneasy and i find it kind of gross to have someone sit in the bathroom.
Can you find out if the hall's attendant can check up on the bathroom every 1/2 hour or so, but not actually sit in there? I am doing that because i do think its impt to have someone wipe down the sink, check that everything's in order and neat, but I dont want someone actually sitting there the entire time.

Bathroom attendants make me so uneasy - especially at a restaraunt - I'm not expecting them at the bathroom, and yes - they are all over you - who brings money to the bathroom????
Exactly!!! and btw, not to sound like a snob, but the classiest restaurants, like Daniel & such, do not have one bc they do make many uncomfortable.

I like the idea of having one to tidy up in there, but with absolutely NO TIP JAR. We'll tip him/her ourselves.

I would normally say no, HOWEVER, I recently went to a wedding where they did not have one and well let's just say I walked into the bathroom and everyone was holding their noses because someone left a gift in one of the bowls and nobody wanted to flush it!!! (sorry - I tried not to be too graphic). I felt like I was going to be sick!!

100% YES on the attendants. 100% NO on the tip jars.
There will be attendants in both the ladies and the men's rooms at our wedding. More often than not, your host requests them. Bottom line, people are sloppy. I cannot count how many times I have gone into a ladies room and found urine on a toilet seat. IN A LADIES ROOM!!! Why? Because women SQUAT and they aren't careful. I would die of embarrassment if I heard one of my guests complain of a dirty bathroom - especially a dirty toilet seat. Even if the attendant just makes sure that the room is clean thats fine.
My caterer is under strict instructions that NO tip jars or baskets are to be anywhere at the wedding including and especially the bathrooms and the bars. People may tip anyway but that is an individual's choice and frankly I personally, do it out of force of habit anyway. Gratuities are included across the board for a reason. All but the maitre-d.

I personally dislike bathroom attendants.. I hate having to bring $ with me to the bathroom everytime I go ... maybe you can just ask them to go in every half hour or so to straighten up??

They annoy me... it makes me feel super uncomfortable that someone is listening to me go to the bathroom... i also hate that i am expected to tip someone for just handing me a towel.... my hall dosnt have one, but has someone go in periodically to check that the bathroom is clean and that nothing bad has happened....
