If you can afford it, sure. Personally, I would love to have one but the budget won't allow for it.

Re: poll - chocolate fountain
IMHO- $450 is alot of money for melted chocolate.
I'm dying for an extra $450 for things like paying for my dad's tux, helping my girls out paying for their hair and makeup, pay for a part of each of their dresses...

Love the idea, and think it adds a nice extra touch. But with money so tight I personally couldn't go for the extra $450.
And my FH HATES CHOCOLATE (I know! can you believe I'm still marrying him??)

Yes, I think it's worth it b/c I am a chocoholic But let me ask you this... does that $450 include the whole display (the fruit, cheese, etc...) that you dip into the chocolate? Or is that just for the fountain? Where do you get one of these fountains???

Re: poll - chocolate fountain
I tried it out at Lands' End vendor showcase, and it was awesome. It's not really that messy, unless someone goes crazy with it. It was so much fun and yummy. The only problem is that most of the chocolate got stuck on my plate, so I couldn't eat it all.
I think Audrey's Bake shop has one.

$450 doesn't sound too bad...our caterer wanted $1,000!!! I thought that was ridiculous, he wanted $5 per head for it, even though you know a lot of the guys won't be eating it. It sounded really interesting and so good.

Mine too but he saw it on a TV wedding and asked for me to find out about it. I personally thought it was a lot of money but he freaked when he heard that is was going to be close to $500 for chocolate. The sad part is they really arnt using that much chocolate. I think most of the $$ is for the person maning the machine. I just think there has to be such a HUGE mark up for this. It isnt even quality chocolate like Godiva or lindt. Instead of the $3 per person for the chocolate I am spending $5 and get a full vienese hour.

Re: poll - chocolate fountain
that's the best price i've seen for it - so i say go for it! we were going to get it...but it was $600 fot it and then $1 per person....so it was too much money.

I guess if you have the money to splurge it's not a bad deal.

Re: poll - chocolate fountain
I voted no, but only because you are having a full viennese hour already. There's only so much food a person can eat! Otherwise, it would be nice to have as an alternative to cake for people who want dessert but don't like cake.

I voted yes...and if I had known about this before I got married, I'd have had one...and would have paid $450 for it. We didn't do the viennese hour...because I thought it would be too much...but, the chocolate fountain would have been a hit!!!

I said no unless you have the money to spend. I have other things that I would spend the $450 on. JMO.
