If the poll is closed then I think we are reading Topping from below.
I didnt not want to read Good in Bed but here are the libraries I called to see if I can rent it:
Bellmore East MEadow Levittown Helwett Oceanside Massapequa Plainview Farmingldae Hemstead Baldwin Long Beach Syosset Shelter Rock Merrick Rockville Center Freeport Port Wash Garden City Rosyln Manhasset Jericho Franklin Squ. Bethpage Seaford Wantagh W.Hmpt Floral Park Westbury Hillside East Rockaway Wiliston Park Malverne Island PArk Roosvelet
I didnt want to buy another book this month.. So i was opting not to read if it won,.
I was able to get topping last night from the library..

Re: POLL CLOSED?
Really, that stinks.. I cant believe how horrible the libraries are in your neighborhood... I like to buy books from time to time (our favorite thing to do on a sat afternoon is to go have lunch and walk around borders for a couple of hours) but with frank out of work i have to cut back on the books i buy right now, and i dont know what i would do with out the library.....

Re: POLL CLOSED?
Wow, I love my library has an online system. Using a browser I can check what is available, and request an interlibrary loan from a different library if my book isn't there. Time for Long Island to catch up! :o)

Re: POLL CLOSED?
Books are so expensive its crazy! Sometimes I need instant gratification so I succumb to the evils of Barnes and Noble. But most times I find what Im looking for on Half.com or some other discount place. And when Im really lucky, I get a friend to let me borrow a book.

Re: POLL CLOSED?
Stef, in NYC you can always use the Leoline to check on books. Thank goodness for a friend in high places at the library.

Re: POLL CLOSED?
Also, for the city people check the Strand... there is one by the Seaport and one by Union Square. They usually have books at half off or cheaper. i've bought quite a few books there for 4 - 5 dollars! I'm sure you can call and ask if they have a book and how much it would be.

Re: POLL CLOSED?
Nassau libraries have a search engine online. It tells you what library has what. It's the greatest thing!!!
