Poll! Cost vs. Quality

Poll! Cost vs. Quality

when searching for your vendors, what played a more important factor cost or quality?

Photography/videography was most important to me.

Everything else I looked for the best possible deal

our biggest splurge was on the venue. If my mom had not stepped in I don't know how I could have remained sane!

we spent more than we originally wanted to on photography. not that my photographer is overly expensive...he's not. but we had gotten better prices from other photogs whos work we weren't crazy about. but pictures are so important to me, and they have to be perfect. so we went w the best work we saw regardless of price. luckily he wasn't the most expensive we saw so it worked out.

I had a friend who let her cousin wit an expensive camera shoot her wedding. She has not put together a wedding book because the photos just arent good enough.

def photography - you'll always have the pics, so those need to be great! we def spent more than we had originally budgeted for, but after seeing my proofs, i'm so happy we did!

quality...I sacrificed to splurge on all above items. Definitely not always easy but its something i am happy with my decision

I think you need to factor a little bit of both. I've gone for vendors that I think will give me the quality I want within the budget I've set.

That being said....something like photgraphy/veideography is probably where I will end up on the high -side.

food was most important but our hall isn't that badly priced. The most we spent on was hall then photography/videography but if i had more money i would of done a more artistic photographer to have there just as an added bonus.

CLM had one of the best food i had at an RH, and the fact that they have amazing prices makes it even better

we splurged on photography b/c I fell in love with the photograher, but compared to other photogs we saw, we got more for our money with ours... so i guess it wasn't really a splurge b/c we didn't spend as much as we could have.

I also 'splurged' on our honeymoon. We could have gotten a regular room for half the price, but we went 'bigger' and still got a great deal b/c of the sales.

I shopped around for everything.

We're not going on a honeymoon until summer of 2009. we decided we'd do the wedding and then go on a honeymoon later. I was soo happy with that because it was one less item we needed to save for.

We haven't booked our HM yet, but I know that will be a splurge!

our splurge was our dj and it only got really expensive because we added on room lighting.

we splurged on photo and video - we got who wanted and didnt care about the price - we love their work so we booked them....we def cut back on flowers and i cut back on my dress budget - i knew i could easily fall in love with say a kenneth pool dress (love those dresses) BUT i also knew i could find a dress that i loved for a 1/4 of the price....i just couldnt see spending all that money on a dress - especially when im so indecisive! so basically i had to lower the dress budget so we could afford other things - besides the day of the wedding all brides/dresses look like a million dollars no matter what their price tag says oh and HM we cut back on - we are staying at FH's aunts timeshare in aruba so that saved us money - we decided maybe for our 1 year anniversary or 2 year anniversary we will go to Bora Bora or some place like that

we picked a daytime event for so many reasons, cost was a huge factor. We saved money on lightling! We are getting married at RH so we have no need for limos!!

We really wanted to extend our day so we have booked alimo bus for a night on the town for our BP and my OOT family. We will end at Mirage and party through the night!
