we splurged on photo and video - we got who wanted and didnt care about the price - we love their work so we booked them....we def cut back on flowers and i cut back on my dress budget - i knew i could easily fall in love with say a kenneth pool dress (love those dresses) BUT i also knew i could find a dress that i loved for a 1/4 of the price....i just couldnt see spending all that money on a dress - especially when im so indecisive! so basically i had to lower the dress budget so we could afford other things - besides the day of the wedding all brides/dresses look like a million dollars no matter what their price tag says oh and HM we cut back on - we are staying at FH's aunts timeshare in aruba so that saved us money - we decided maybe for our 1 year anniversary or 2 year anniversary we will go to Bora Bora or some place like that

I am with you on cost vs quality, I LOVE my dress and it's 1/3 of what I expected to pay.

i feel like we kind of have a combination of both...but we would never have booked someone just on their price if we did not like them as much as someone else who was a bit more...it is a mixture for me

i think it was really based on my vibe that i got from vendors, like how welcomed i felt, and if they were sincere.

I have to say i felt that way about all the vendors i choose.

How did all of your flower appointments go? Did you end up booking anywhere?

We splurged on our music band...it's almost as much as photo & video together, but we hope the music will make people dance and have a good time.

FH and I are going to splurge on our Honeymoon. I think that everything else, can be found at a decent price with decent quality. Honeymoon is going to be the thing that him and I are doing for each other.

food was most important but our hall isn't that badly priced. The most we spent on was hall then photography/videography but if i had more money i would of done a more artistic photographer to have there just as an added bonus.

I assume you set your menu?

Oh yea a while ago - cheatua brian (sp), chicken fracaise, veal chop rack and chilean sea bass.

We're not going on a honeymoon until summer of 2009. we decided we'd do the wedding and then go on a honeymoon later. I was soo happy with that because it was one less item we needed to save for.

thats what were doing most likely. we havent even put a HM in our budget, if anything we can take it the next year

Photography was very important as well, but I feel like everything for me was a splurge ! I totally went over my orginal budget , especially with flowers . The quality of everything is important to me, and any time I attempted to cut corners , I didn't like the end result. so its ramen noodles till sept

I eat half the pack for lunch , the other for dinner , this way I am only eating one pack a day AND spending 33 cents ( or if im lucky 10 for a dollar )
