my FMIL is paying for a brunch on the day of the wedding - for all the OOT folks.
it will be right in the hotel, so no one has to actually go anywhere.
needless to say, I won't be there. I think I'll be a little busy

Re: POLL-Did/Are you having a 'non-rehearsal' RD?
We are having a dinner with FI's family because they are OOT....and a few OOT family members (we don't have too many OOT guests coming)...It will be small so we are just planning on making reservations somewhere in the city.

We're having an informal 'night before' dinner. More than 50% of our guests are coming in from OOT, so this will give us a chance to spend some time with everyone. Not sure where we're going to have it yet.

We have a lot of OOT family members who are staying at the Sheraton Smithtown so we are using one of their ballrooms the evening before the wedding to have a 'Groom's Dinner' - My FH is from Minesotta and that is what they call RDs.

We're having a non-rehearsal RD. It's the night before the wedding at the hotel where our family and OOT guests are staying. We're having the dinner with just parents, siblings, granparents, BP, and readers. After dinner, we got a private room from the hotel bar to have cocktails with the OOT guests. It would've been way to expensive to feed them all! I just hope none of them are in the restaurant while we're having our RD - that would be a little awkward I think!

Yes. We are going to have ours at Bertuccis for our OOT guests and Bridal party the evening before the wedding.

Re: POLL-Did/Are you having a 'non-rehearsal' RD?
We had a luncheon the day before. It's becoming more and more common, I'm seeing.
I'm used to a RD since I was raised Catholic but DH was not, having been raised Jewish. We decided that we would throw the luncheon for our immediate family and our BP to thank them for all of their efforts for our wedding and give out their gifts.
We had ours at Austin's Ale House in Kew Gardens. Love it there!

I was going to not have a rehearsal and just do a dinner but I actually had some of my girls request the rehearsal because they'd never been in a wedding where the ceremony and reception are at the same place so now I'm having both.

Re: POLL-Did/Are you having a 'non-rehearsal' RD?
I(I know i'm crazy) had a catered party at my house the night before the wedding. It was a bit hectic in the beginning but it worked out great. All of our OOT guests got to see our home and I left with my girlfriends around midnight to go to the hotel. My husband cleaned everything up the next morning-what a guy! It cost about 400 with 3 trays of hot food, hero, veggie platter, plasticware, 8 1.5 liter bottles of wine, and a keg of heinekin.

Re: POLL-Did/Are you having a 'non-rehearsal' RD?
We are in the midst of planning a non-rehearsal RD too. Many of our friends in the wedding party have either met once or have never met at all. We are looking for a restaurant near the hotel to have it the night before. We are paying for it, and I can't get over how much money it will be...at least 1K!

That's what we are doing, too.
I spoke with our officiant this morning and he doesn't think we'll need a rehearsal and I agree. Just have to find the right place at the right price that is easy to get to for my OOTers (basically, my whole family!)
