Nope!!! He already has an 8 y/o that we have on the weekends, and we have opposite work schedules during the week. So time alone is already pretty tough. I'd like to wait at least a year before we have kids! However, he likes to point out that he's not getting any younger.

Re: POLL: Do you want a honeymoon baby?
No way!! We need to make sure John is healthy before we have kids. I don't think I could handle finding out the cancer returned and have to take care of John and a baby.
We hope to start trying 2 years after we are married. John will be 3 years post surgery and hopefully cancer free!
I voted whatever happens happens- but I would prefer that it DIDN'T happen right now

No honeymoon baby. FI has 2 children so they will be enough practice for me until we have our own. I just have to keep repeating to myself 'Patience Patience Patience'.

Guess I'm the minority on here, but YES we are going to try for a honeymoon baby. I'll be 36 by the time we are married & we've been living together and both feel we'd be ready for a baby.
I'm just worried about going off the pill a few months b4 as I wouldn't want to have an unwanted visitor on my wedding day.

I am an oldy but goodie too. I do not want to go off birth control til after the wedding because I do not want to have breakthrough bleeding on my honeymoon,(sorry so gross but Always with wings have NO place on my honeymoon).
But soon after we get home from the honeymoon we will try. I will be close to 36 also by wedding time and honestly, I never planned to start having kids at 36. It was supposed to be 26. Life throws you curves I guess. I am glad I picked the right person to have kids with but I know, from what I do for a living, that my chances of having a child with a disability increase with age and that frightens me - especially with MY family history. I will have every pre-natal test known to man in order to be able to make good decisions with FH.
