Re: POLL: Entrance to the reception
We did grandparents, parents and BP. All of those people put a tremendous amount of effort into our day and we wanted them recognized for it.
I've been to many weddings lately where just the bride and groom are announced and I personally find it rude.

I would like to honor my parents & the BP. Especially my bridesmaid who has been a HUGE help to me since day 1!
But FH’s father is deceased, and although I can pair up his mom with her other son, I don’t want her to feel uncomfortable, you know?

Just us. My FH's parents are deceased and we have a really small bridal party, so it makes sense. They'll join in at the end of our dance.

Ask her who she wants to escort her into the reception. DH's parents are divorced - mom is still single, dad has been remarried for 5 years. He walked in with his wife and MIL had her brother escort her in. My mom is also single (dad's not in the picture) and she asked one of my brothers to escort her in. I'm sure his mom understands. The whole process will be hard without her husband but I don't think this particular one will be any worse than any of the rest of it and you're doing it with the best of intentions - to honor her and the hard work she's put into this wedding.

We didn't do introductions at all, it just isn't our style.

Re: POLL: Entrance to the reception
I want to include my parents, but they are divorced, and my dad's in the middle of a divorce w/ his 2nd wife! What do people do in those situations? Has anyone ever seen a wedding where they handled that?!

Re: POLL: Entrance to the reception
We are having my parents, FH mom and whoever she chooses to escort her (FH dad passed away about a year ago). She may choose her brother in law.
My idea is for her to walk in with FH sil and maybe baby nephew(note sure about this) his brother is the best man and the sides won't be even if he walks in with their mom. Knowing FH culture she'll choose her bil.
As for the divorced parents with the 2nd divorce happeing- Is your father's second wife attending? Would your parents hate to walk in together (not arm in arm?) One at a time? That's a tough one.
Bottom line- talk with the people you want in the entrance and see what their thoughts are.

Unfortunately, none of our grandparents were in attendance which was a bummer...but they're old (his) and out of the country (mine).

Are your parents cordial? My parents are divorced too and they came in together. Although not holding hands or anything. They were announced as 'the parents of the bride Señora Margarita LastName and Señor Jose LastName' I mean, they are your parents, why not come in together (yet apart )? My dad is remarried and has been for 20 years...and I love my step mom dearly, but this is once in a lifetime.
