OKay, so these are my options for the RH I'm interested in, and I cant decide.
Please help me decide, and if you have an extra second or 2, tell me why you picked what you picked.
Thanks Guys

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
We picked Friday night because we wanted an evening wedding and Saturday was way more expensive.

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
i voted for friday night.. personally, i would rather have a night wedding than a day wedding, nothing wrong with a day wedding, jmo. sunday pm would be my 2nd choice.

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I picked Saturday AM only because it is tough for me to leave work early Friday, run home, change and drive someplace. same with Sunday PM - I have to get into work early Monday. If I had to, I could. i'd just prefer not to.

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I chose friday (on your poll) but I do think it depends on the time of year. Saturday day weddings are really nice if you're having outdoor elements--ceremony or cocktail hour. Friday night is great if you want that nighttime feel and most guests will have off the next day.

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I picked Friday, though some people might not make it to the ceremony, i like the idea of evening, and then everyone can do brunch Sat morning or something. We pretty much had to do sunday - jewish wedding in the summer with several observant guests would mean a sat night wouldnt start until 9 or so, but I've been to Friday weddings and they were a ton of fun!

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I choose a Sunday night wedding. I originally wanted a Sat night wedd but my RH didnt have the Saturdays that we wanted available. I am having lots of OOT's so its better for them that I did it on a Sun bec they can travel on a Sat so they wont have to rush out of work on Fri to get to a sat wedd

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
It depends how local your guests are. If more than about 20% live in westchester, NJ, or NYC, a friday night reception is VERY difficult to attend. They would have to take a full day off of work and show up hours early to avoid the rush hour traffic... and then wait until evening.
If virtually everyone is a LI'er, that's much less of an issue.
Sun night would have everyone who works leaving early.
I still prefer a sat AM wedding. Sure people have to get up early, but other than that, they can recover from the party the next day, and still have some personal time that weekend...

I chose Saturday AM. If the weather is nice and your hall has large windows or an outside CH I think that Saturday during the day is perfect. That way all of your guests will be able to make it to the ceremony and also won't have to worry about going to work the next day. Also, you can always have an afterparty at a bar or someones house to make it an entire day affair!

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I'm having a Sunday 'twilight' wedding - which is 4:30-10:30 pm. It's nice because you get the nice sunset evening hours, and doesn't go as late on a work night - but doesn't feel like you'r having it in the morning either. (It is cheaper than Saturday night, too)

If you prefer a night time reception, I think friday is almost as good as having it on a saturday night. People dont have work the next day!

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
hmmm kinda torn between friday night and sunday night...Problem is that i get home at 6:30 from work, and if its someone VERY close ill take the day off but otherwise i won't, and you have to expect that although some will take off for your wedding, theres quite a few that wouldn't. I would have to really rush home, get ready quick and rush to the wedding. Sunday is good because i wouldn't have to rush and or take off, and personally I don't mind staying up late because I do regardless. I am going to a wedding soon on a sunday that starts at 5pm so its not that bad.
But if i was close to someone and i took off friday then obviously i wouldn't mind at all, and on fridays people are in a good mood.
What about changing the month you want to get married if you are interested in getting married on saturday pm, thats if you want that

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I think it depends on your crowd--if you have a lot of younger people or partiers, a Friday evening wedding would be good. However, it means a lot of people will take the day off from work, or a half day, and a lot of people don't like that. Same thing with a Sunday evening wedding. I'm having a Sunday morning wedding with an afternoon reception, and I have to say that everyone loves the idea, but my guests are mostly older people, thirties and up, so partying far into the night isn't something most of them would do anyway. So a Saturday morning-afternoon wedding would be good if you have a similar crowd. Also, there's always an option of having an after party at a club or something for your younger guests who want to continue partying.

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
From your choices, I would choose Saturday AM. It stinks having to get up early to get ready, but as long as you get to bed early on Friday night then you should be ok. You'll have all day to be the bride and can keep going at an after-party!!

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I am having a Sunday evening wedding for the simple fact that I couldn't get the venue on ANY Saturday night. The restaurant doesn't book Saturday night parties. Also, my date is close to the 4th of July, so a lot of people have off that week. My second choice would be a Friday night. I agree with Pencils about assessing the crowd. My family and friends like to get their drink on and an evening wedding works better for that crowd. It's true that people might leave early, but a lot might take off monday as well. There are pros and cons of all choices.

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I chose and also have a FRIDAY PM wedding , I was dead against this but this was the only day left that they had!!!!!!!!! and was stuck...I was freakin out about it and asked around and most people were happy b/c it wont kill the entire weekend and they will have plenty of time to recover...lol

Re: POLL - Help Me decide
I chose Sat day...reason being I am planning on taking pics before the ceremony (which is at the RH). The evening weddings do not permit very early arrivals. We are also having an after party at a local hotel (free shuttle). It's all personal opinion. Good luck!
