FI suggested Lionel Ritchie's 'Hello' last night...and It's a beautiful song, but I'm not sure if it's Wedding Song 'material.'

UPDATE: We're going with Come What May...FI admitted that he got the idea for Hello after seeing the movie 40 y/o virgin last night...and totally forgot!
We both agreed that Come what May is definitely OUR SONG and it made us both melt!

it's rumored that hello was written after one of several beatings administered by his wife.
the song was written about three years before her arrest, but many friends and relatives speculated that hello was written as a sort of cry for help from lionel.
the song is often used for domestic abuse groups, and richie recently sang this song at a conference for battered latina women.
i know all of this because my friend is a member of the lionel richie fan club and arguably one of his biggest fans.

ohhhhh... I don't know I love both of those songs.... I think come what may might be more appropriate, hello always makes me think that he loves this girl from afar but she has no idea he's alive, and obviously, thats not the case!
That's why I didn't think it was very appropriate...
Maybe I am in the minority, but for that reason, the 'Hello' song always gave me the creeps a little - the video is slightly stalkerish, I always thought.
Just read post above - OMG! Now I know why that song always left me unsettled and sad. thanks!
