A guy from the laundromat comes to my apartment... picks up my laundry... washes it for me... delivers it back the day after.

Re: poll - how do you do laundry
I throw the detergent right on top of the clothes. I hate doing laundry sooooo much that I have never really given thought as to how to do it.

I start the water, add half the measured detergent, then start adding clothes as the machine fills up. Then I pour the rest of the detergent on the clothes.

We have industrial machines in our laundry room (I live in a building). there's not much option - you put the detergent in, add the clothes, close the lid and add the quarters (which starts the water).
If I had my own machine (a pipe dream as of now ), I'd start the water, then add the detergent and then add the clothes.
It's like this at the laundro-mat. Can't wait to have my own machine!!!

our machine instructs you to start washer, put detergent in, then clothes.
(edited--- but I don't wait for it to fill up first. Don't have the patience)
This is me exactly!

clothes, detergent, turn on machine...
but now I have a front loader so there's this cunning little compartment for the detergent.
