funny i was just searching for shoes. I need to have smaller heels since i can't walk in heels and have arthritis in my feet and legs anyway... so i'm going to try to get in the 2 1/4 inches ballpark. (plus FH isn't much taller than me, so i don't want to tower over him)

Mine are 2 inches. I got them at Casa Di Mario in Patchogue. They have a good selection. Varone's in Sayville has a good collection. And so does Craft Shoes in Commack.
BTW, when my mom found her shoes (at Varone's) the heel was just a bit too high for her comfort. So the lady at Varone's told us that a shoe maker can take about 1/2' off the heel without affecting the pitch of the shoe!!! Can you believe that!!! So we took the shoes to Islip Shoe Repair on the corner of Union Blvd and Islip Ave in Islip, and he did it for my mom. She said the shoes are great, it only cost $8, and he had it done in a few days!!!!
The lady at Varone's specifically recommended this guy because I guess shoe makers get a lot of black goo on their hands during the day, and this particular shoe maker does this type of work first thing in the morning, before he gets goo all over his hands.

3.5 inch platform mary jane shoes, they are actaully comfy becuase the weight of the foot is on the platform, u are not walking on your toes. I am also going to get bridal sneakers just in case. My MOH is going to make them for me.![]()
