I ordered mine in July for Sept 2004, 14 months in advance, it takes like 10 months to make it!

Oh my god I'm freaking out!!! We are trying to get a hall for July 04 and I'm not even really thinking about the dress... it's 9 months away!! Do dresses always take forever?
Also, I'm on a big plan to lose a lot of weight, so I don't want to get a dress now because the dress I want will be different when I'm smaller!
any advice?

I ordered mine 8 months before the wedding. Ordered it July 2003 for my March 2004 wedding. They said it should be in in January.

i ordered mine about a year before... ladies, dont' stress if you didn't order yet - i was told it takes about 6 months to come in....but my dress will be in late, becuse the orders don't go according to who orders first, they go according to who's wedding comes first! so my dress will be late so the october brides dresses will not be..... does that make any sense?

Bought my dress in Febuary for a November wedding. The dress came in at the end of September...My 2nd fitting is on October 21st.

My dress was the first one I tried on. I looked a little more after that but then went back and bought that one.
So I bought mine 9 months before

I ordered my gown in April for my Sept 04 wedding. It was the third gown that I tried on. As soon as I put it on, I just knew that it was the one.

ress takes atleast 9 months for it to come in. i ordered it in july for my next august wedding,,,so about a year and 1 month!
: ) i wanted to make sure i got it in time for fittings and stuff

I bought my gown exactly a year before my wedding date. I took the chance with my weight and put a down payment on the order. Five months after my down payment I'd paid in full and ask Estelle's Dressy Dress to hold it in their store for pick-up. I got alterations a week before my wedding and it was fine. I didn't care or listen to anyone's comments about my weight potential gain or loss. I found my 'dream' bridal gown that I've envision the style and format and I didn't want to pass that opportunity. My weight was a roller coaster during our stressful and frustrating engagement and wedding planning period. On the day of the wedding I dazzled the dance floor with my gown and people were amazed that I was so skinny that my gown fit my body so perfectly.
If you found the gown of your dreams... GO FOR IT. Don't let any negative comments stop you to persue your 'dream gown.' Sure, weight can go up or down as that's the chance you'll have to take. Life is one big risk.
