I went dress shopping a few times. Mostly I went with two other people, but the time I found and bought my dress it was just DH and me. Because, as far as I'm concerned, we're the only people who had to be happy with it!
ETA: The more people you bring with you, the more opinions you have to hear! (Which can be a positive or a negative)

I went the first time by myself! I was okay with that, I wanted to be able to look and try on with out others weighing in with their opinions.
After I found 'the one' I visited it two times before making my deposit with my MOH, 2 BM's and my Mom.

Most of the time I went with just my mom so I said 1, but the last time I looked I also brought my grandma so then it would be 2.

Not sadly at all. MOst of the time I went with my MOH. then with my mom & MOH. But when I went by myself I think I really made my mind up then.

I went sooo many times....... The very first time, I went with my maid of honor. Second time, I went with 2 of my co-workers. Third time, by myself. 4th time, I went with my parents and they bought the dress for me on the spot. 5th time, I went back with my MOH to show her and also to try it on again....I love it!!!
Sooo, yeah, I went back numerous time. If I can go everyday to try on my dress, I WILL!!
hehehhe...I'm a little obsessed!!

i didnt take your poll cause it was different every time! i went to 6 different places and took my mom and 3 BM's once, my mom and 2 BMs a second time, and just my mom and i the rest of the times. i enjoyed it every time so i wouldnt say any way was that ideal. i just think you should make sure that you value the opinions of the people who go. when i finally found my dress i went with just my mom and although i comitted to buying the dress that day, my mom and i have SUCH different tastes that i made on of my BMs meet me there a few days later so she could judge too. good luck and most of all have fun!

Well originally I only wanted it to be my mom and my sister but the day I bought it (which was the first time I went looking) I wasn't planning on even trying dresses on!
We were with my mom, sister and two of her other BM's (total of four other people) looking for BM dresses and we just happened to walk into the bride side of the salon and I saw something I liked so they all told me to try it on. Three dresses and two hours later my mom put a deposit on the dress and we left!
I was officially a bride with a dress!

The first time I went with my moh then i went with my mom and a bm. The 3rd time when I went and actually got my dress it was just me and my mom.
