Poll - How much do you......

How much of your income (before tax) do you give to charity, and do you think it's enough?

This can include political causes for this poll.

Also, Which charities do you give most to?

I realized when we add it up it's only 2% of our income (a little over $4K)....this year we're going to strive to be in the 5-10% group! Eeks, I feel cheap!

To answer the second question, we give to:

Animal Charities (ASPCA, PETA, Farm Sanctuary), CARE International, Political causes (Progressive candidates and Grassroots organizations)....

oh neen, one day we'll get there!

I dont have much $$, but I always put $ in the McDs box and anything I see on counters.. Also I give to the bell ringers at Christmas.. FH and I are also giving a donation to the widows and childrens fund instead of favors.. he is a fireman...

Usually I give by volunteering. I actually got an award for donating so much time to the animal shelters through Walmart :)

I am similar to you in respect that I donate my time. I DO donate money through the school I work for, though. I am the faculty adviser to the National Junior Honor Society in my school, so I help my kids organize all sorts of fundraisers for the community, so I give through that. But I would say a majority of my donations are through service.

Maybe volunteer time should be included:)

It's certainly valuable, more than money sometimes!
