Poll- How much do you expect your RD to cost? (whether your or someone else is paying)
I am having about 35 people at my RD. I am curious what you ladies expect to pay (especially if you are in my ball park) but all responses are welcome.
I am adding a poll for those that wish to remain anonymous.

We are looking to have our RD at our home...We are expecting to spend $1K or a little more...To spend more is ridiculous in my opinion bc we are having a wedding & that is where the $$ is being spent!!!

We do not know how much to expect-my dad is paying for it though-
the only part of the whole wedding that we are being helped with

we are actually most likely going to rent a lovely space in Brooklyn and have friends and family cook the food (we will pay for the costs of everything) by doing this we are saving at least $300 (coming in around $700 vs. $1000 or more)
Kristen, how many people are you having in your home?

Around $1100, that's soup to nuts. . .
Appetizers, salads, choice of 4 entrees, dessert, beer, wine & soda for around 25 people.

JessicaM, we are anticipating at least 35! we are planning on doing most of the cooking & only have beer, wine & soda!

they have tables there (they are just not shown.) it really is a lovely space. we've held parties there before. the foyer is marble and there is a marble staircase that goes up to the landing where this room is.
we are renting the space for 4 hours (b/c you need time for set up and breakdown which must be included in the rental since they book back to back)

I'm hoping not more than $1,000. I'm looking into the Irish Coffee Pub, their food is yummy, but I don't know how much they charge, I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

We are having the dinner at my parents house in Queens. We are hiring tassa players so that will be about $500-$800. We are cooking all the food and decorating ourselves so I anticipate another $500 so about $1300 total.

We were going to do it at the house, and then decided it's just too much energy....so, we're looking into Bubby's (DUMBO) and they have a pre-fixed menu at about $35 per person.
We're having ONLY the Bridal Party and their dates, and our parents.

We're having ONLY the Bridal Party and their dates, and our parents.
approximately 15 people.
Leo sent me the info on Bubby's too- it looks good, but too $$ for the amount of people we are having.

When we did our engagement party at the firehouse for about 60 people, it was $1000.00
We are hopefully doing the rehearsal at my dad's firehouse (down the block from the church) and are anticipating the same amount of people...so hopefully $1,000.00
I just went to Michaels last night and got beautiful 8 inch wreaths and a couple of red/purple/gold accents for $2.00 each. I am going to put a bottle of wine in the middle of each wreath and viola! A cheap but pretty centerpiece.
I'm going to try to find some red and white checkered table cloths and do an 'Italian-Themed' dinner. Our local pizza place will do the cooking, as they have done for each of my other parties! I'm also planning on doing just wine and beer... no hard liquor!
Simple, casual and fun.

We're having it at the Waterfron Crab House in LIC and we're paying for a full course meal (salad, pasta, main course, dessert, coffe/tea, soda, and two hours of open bar (wine, beer, mixed drinks)) $37.95 per person...we're looking at about 25 people so it will run us (with the tip and all) around $1250...

We hope to have only 25 people and that's our bridal party with significant others, parents and grandma.... that's it.... I'm thinking no more that $1,000.
