Poll- How much do you expect your RD to cost? (whether your or someone else is paying)
Original post by JessicaM.
I am having about 35 people at my RD. I am curious what you ladies expect to pay (especially if you are in my ball park) but all responses are welcome.
I am adding a poll for those that wish to remain anonymous.

We were going to do it at the house, and then decided it's just too much energy....so, we're looking into Bubby's (DUMBO) and they have a pre-fixed menu at about $35 per person.
We're having ONLY the Bridal Party and their dates, and our parents.
approximately 15 people.
Leo sent me the info on Bubby's too- it looks good, but too $$ for the amount of people we are having.
There are plenty of restaurants with cheaper menus that are great and plentiful.
Did you look at Pete's Downtown? Downtown Atlantic?
how does this sound for a menu
appetizzers: traditional Central American tacos (flautas) shrimp cocktail guacamole & bean dip
main dishes (served buffet style): broiled chicken breast with prunes and capers sausage and peppers pernil penne ala vodka rice with asparagus spears
soda, beer, wine, champagne toast, and cake...
all for $19.44 per person
OMG! Where are you having it? You had me with the flautas!
sorry girls. this is the menu I came up with for my DIY RD. bet. fh's godmother, my mom, me, and my BP we are making this stuff ourselves. saving SO MUCH money.
I think it's worth it to get your family involved for stuff like this- we can all cook, why pay someone else to do it!

Ours is costing about $1500. Luckily, FILs are paying for it and they upgraded the menu. We're having about 30 people.

Unfortunately, we're having 50 people. I have a big family and we have 7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsman, plus their dates. My mom is paying for it and it will be...$2400, including tax and gratuity. (and yes this includes open bar).

I don't think we'll spend much on it. If my FILs follow tradition, which they might, they'll host the RD and it'll be their headache. I'll pay for the GM cake and thats it. They'll most likely host it at their house and it'll be warm that time of yr, so it might just be another BBQ. Which is fine. I don't feel the need to go nuts for it. So I'm guesting less than $500, but then again, my FMIL loves to shop. My poor FFIL, she might spend more than we did on the wedding. LOL

Thank you for reminding me that this is something I need to figure out.
I think we will wind up with the same number of people (35) as you. I am hoping to keep the cost below $1000.

I'm so jealous of you all - we have 60 people on our RD invite. FH was just saying the other day how unfair that was. But still, we're expecting to only spend $1000 - not too bad.

We are having it at Gemellis in Babylon... its like 39 per head, but not including alcohol. Its such a nice place though and we loved it. Plus, we are only having around 17-20 people go, if that. So hopefully it will be around 1,000.
