Poll: If you couldn't have your wedding on a Saturday Night When would you?

I'm know I can't afford a Saturday night so I'm trying to decide when would be the second best thing. What do you girls think? If you have a reason please tell me so I can factor it into our decision. Thanks

We chose a Sunday night-but it's the night before Columbus day-so most of our guests have off the next day. Otherwise we would have gone for a Friday or Saturday night.

We're doing the same thing. You're my date twin!
Most of our guests wil have off the next day.
You might also try having your wedding on an off season like November or December. It's a little cheaper then. I would try for those time periods a Friday night or Sat/Sun afternoon.

We had our wedding ceremony at 3 PM on a Sunday and the wedding reception at night. Most of our guests had off the next day for Martin Luther King day.

I am having mine on a Friday night. It was about $30 cheaper per person and I would like to have the rest of the weekend to spend with my husband and family beofre leaving for the honeymoon. On a Friday you may not get as many people at the church/ceremony but I don't really care about that. As long as my family is there I'm good!! I am having my ceremony at 3pm and CH starts at 7pm.

If I wasn't getting married on a Saturday Evening I would have picked a Friday night. I always love going to a Friday night wedding!

We're having ours on Saturday (ceremony 11:30-12, CH 12-1, and reception 1-5).... and not because it was cheaper (although it did save us $50/pp as compared to Saturday night)...

Our wedding is in July and on the beach -- so we wanted to take advantage of the daytime! We've always imagined getting married outside, with the sun shining!

I like the idea of Saturday afternoon also because you can do the rehearsal Friday night (which as someone mentioned is convenient for any OOT guests) -- and you can continue the party after (if you'd like!). Also, we plan on leaving for our honeymoon on Sunday (night), and think it makes doing that a little easier too!

We had a Friday night wedding. I work in a school so we had to work around the holidays and we wanted our HM to be a full week so we left on Sunday and had Saturday to recover (which was desperately needed!!)
I know it always depends on your guests & the circumstances but we had a LOT of people at our ceremony . At the reception there were definitely NO issues with people dancing and having a good time!

we are doing a sat afternoon for the exact same reason. its just too expensive on sat night. fri nights and sun nights are hard, especially if you are having people come from OOT. they would have to take off fri or mon.

We had a Sunday wedding. Our ceremony was at 4:30pm and the party went on until 10PM. People didn't leave until 11 Only my MOH complained about the wedding being on a Sunday. I was originally planning to have a Sunday daytime wedding and my family DID complain about that.

If 99% of my guests were from LI I would totally do a Fri night wedding.

BUT, I have probably 60-70% OOT. And thats unfair to them to make them take a day off... if you are in a similar boat, I would make it sat during the day. That way they could travel Friday night after work and come home on Sunday.,

My first choice is actually a friday night. I just feel it's an awesome way to kick off the weekend (of course its a lil cheaper), and to boot, I have a lot of out of town guests, so I will have all day sat and sun to spend with them if they don't come in before the wedding!!!!

our hall wasn't available a saturday night, and we wanted it on a saturday so no one had to take off from work the day before or day after the wedding...so we went with saturday afternoon...and it works out cause now I literally get to wear my dress ALL day from 8 am to we go to sleep, ok, not sleep, but you know what I mean...we also get to party after the wedding with all of our guests at an after party at my mom's house.

I wasn't able to afford a Sat. night wedding at the place I wanted but they worked with us and we got a Sunday night before Memorial Day Weekend!

It's like a Saturday night Wedding on a Sunday night price!

I wouldve loved to do it on a sunday night before a Monday Holiday but everything was booked. So we are having a Friday night instead... Sat. nights are SOOOOOOO expensive

Sat afternoon - take advantage of the day light for pictures and stuff. Also because it is still good for travelers.

Saturday afternoon definitely. That's what FH and I chose...so we can party the whole day and spend the night with our many OOT guests. If we had it at night we would lose that precious time.
