I keep it at 75 when we are not home....during the day...then when we get home I turn it down to 69 (or lower) to cool the house off...then I put it to 70-71 to sleep. We like it cold in the house!!!

If I had animals at home also...I would keep it lower than 75...but there isnt anyone home...we keep the blinds drawn, so I figure we can keep it at a higher temp during the day.
Do you have the thermostat from LIPA? We are getting one installed on July 12th. I cant wait...then we do not have to play with the temp!! It will automatically adjust.

Depends on how hot it is out. Usually in the low 70's also.

lisa- we dont have that from LIPA and I dont want it!!! You know why??? LIPA will think 73-74 or even 75 all the time is good to conserve energy, JMO and then I will sweat to death! well, I wont die LOL but I will suffer

About 70 or so and it is pretty cool. We have an apt with it so that may be cold for my apt. and just right for a house.

Tammyjill...somone posted on here that they have had it for a year and LIPA only raised it once or twice on them. And that was during the day between 2-6. Even if they do raise it...you can just adjust it if you need to. They are not controlly the temp all the time, just asking people to cut back when they need more energy, so that we do not have brown or black outs!!

I have the LIPA thermostat. They do not control the temp in your home. If you sign up for the program, they can go in up to 7 times in the summer months and raise your thermostat up 3 degrees (so if you have it set at 70, they only put it up to 73). This is only to be done durning very high demand times, but again it can only be done up to 7 times in the season. They do not choose the temp for you. Also, if you are by a computer, you can change the tmep or turn on your air from the computer. So even if they raise it, if you are leaving work you can go on and check it and lower it if you want to. You can override what they set it at. It's great. We leave it higher 78 during the day and about 3:00 I lower it from work and when I get home it's cool already. I love it!!

Lisa, no problem. We have had it for about 3 months now and I love that I can change the temp, or turn it on from any computer.
