Did you cry on your wedding day? I went for my last fitting last night and my mom was in tears, which made me sad. I don't think I'd cry, but if others start crying then I may cry too.

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
i am really afraid i am going to cry. i am not an emotional oerson like that per se, but i am afraid that i will be so nervous that i will cry. i cry when i get nervous.
and when i cry, my nose gets red and my eyes look funny, looking like i am tweaked out on something and i dont want that.
i am curious what the replies are for this.

Same here.... I'm an extreamly emotional and highly anxious person. But was so incredibly calm on my wedding day. I did shed a couple of tears at the veiling ceremony prior to the actual ceremony, but that was mostly because I all the sudden got overly excited (like a little kid!).
I did cry like a baby though when I saw my video

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
I did. It was hard for me not to. Right before I walked down the aisle, the bridal attendant standing next to me asked me about the photo of my father I had on my bouquet which started the tears. By the time my brother was walking me down, he asked me if I was ok and I said 'No, I miss Daddy.' Then we both cried walking down the aisle.
The only part that has me cracking up was when my brother tried so hard to hold it together, he left me standing so that DH could come walk me down the rest of the aisle. He patted DH on the back as if to say 'Leslie's brother, rush chairman, damn glad to meet you!'

That's so sad I really hope I don't cry. I'm sure my family won't make that easy for me, especially my mom and sister, who are total saps!

I hope I don't cry! I'm very emotional when FI and I are alone but I tend to hide it very well in front of other people, meaning I have never cried in front of 99% of my friends. I hate crying in front of people. But whenever I think about the actual wedding ceremony I start tearing up! So I'm scared!!

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
Tears started welling up just before I headed down the aisle but I kept taking big gulps of air and held them back. My DH had tears in his eyes when I met him at the alter and that started me off again
Tears didn't really run down my face, but I did have that horrible drippy/wet nose feeling, so you should definitely have a hanky.

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
FH made my cry at our engagement party with the speech he gave, so I think I will start crying at some point. But I am hoping to limit it to teary eyed.

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
I didn't - surprisingly because I am a crier. I was just sooo excited at the church and all day long. I almost cried walking down the aisle. Even when people mentioned my Dad, I was ok. I bawled the next day though.

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
I didn't which surprised everyone because I am highly emotional & can cry at the drop of a hat!! I was so happy that day & so calm! I did cry in the morning when my mom placed a card saying 'i love you' on my dress!
I held it together even through our vows (surprised DH)

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
The only time I started to cry was during my vows so I just said them in a whisper voice and then I was fine. Other than that I was smiling the whole day.

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
Just reading this is making me cry. I really don't want to cry because if I start bawling my contacts will get all blurry then I can't see. Somehow I don't see my mother crying. She's a strong woman and I just don't see it. When I talk about it at work, they all insist that she will cry, but I doubt it. My dad on the other hand I know he will. I'm the only child and my dad is like my best friend. We do lots of father/daughter things together like go to Vegas, Atlantic City, ballgames. I know its not going to be easy, especially the father/daughter dance. All I'm going to say to my father is please tell me a joke or something, I don't want to cry.

Re: Poll: Married ladies, did you cry?
I did not get ready with my family around so when I met up with them at the church taking pictures, I started bawling My Bm commented to my mom 'She was fine all day and you guys show up and shes a mess!'
I shed 1 lone tear during my vows whihc led to a comical tissue moment with my husband
and then someone caught me wiping a tear away as we danced after we cut the cake but I dont remember that....i guess if it was caught on film though it mustve happened!
