Poll: Matching vest to bridesmaids or neutral color??
What are you girls doing? I found a purple vest that matches perfectly to the girls' dresses and picked it for the guys. My sister and her husband went to get him and their son fitted today and said that I will regret having the purple matching vests because it is too prom like and not sophisticated and elegant and I should stick to black, silver, or gold. What do you think?

I'm not sure I'm matching them either since out color is red....I feel it might be too much on the guys. I say stick to something neutral

my girls are wearing blue and brown and the guys are wearing brown vest. I didnt want the neutral thing because even my dress isnt just white. I like color

Our BM dresses are black and the guys are also wearing black vest and tie.

i originally wanted to match my purples but didn't think i would be able to find the exact color as the girls. I will prob do a neutral with a purple tie

we're doing purple dresses too but went with just a black vest/tie combo for the guys. i wanted to liven it up and get these funky striped purple ties for the guys but my groom is a fuddy-duddy and vetoed it. still think its a fun idea and adds color without it looking to prom-like.

We matched the vests to the bridesmaids and it was like a cobalt blue. It looked amazing and the pictures looked great with the color popping out.

My BM's are wearing black so the guys will probably be in black or silver vests.
I'm not into the matching colors look but everyone likes something different

We had the guys in black tie and vests. I felt it just looked more traditional and timeless that way.

i dont have mine yet....but i think we will be doing this...its just my opinion though...at the end of the day its whatever YOU and FH want

We did matching but we did black dresses so it's different.
The #1 rule to wedding planning is don't listen to anyone else and do what YOU want to do. Too many cooks in the kitchen makes a stressed bride even more stressed and confused. If you LOVE the purple, do the purple. If you want the BMs dresses to be the only purple in the pictures, then do silver for the guys.

It might be cool depending on your color scheme, to do a purple that slightly lighter...it will look great without being completely matchy!
I haven't picked them out yet but my color scheme is indigo, pistachio and fuschia. The BM dresses are going to be indigo and the guys vest are going to be pistachio, and the BM bouquets are flowers in the pistachio color scheme.
