to answer my post i am in agony. it was never bad until the past 4-5 years
now i will take pills before i got to bed and wkae up in the middle of the night when they wear off- its so horrible

i was wondering who else is in my position

Same thing for me. When I first got it, it was nothing - for several years it was like that, and I would always say 'cramps, yeah right'. Now, I am in such agony that at times I even vomit - its the worst!

I do get agonizing cramps which I take meds for but I guess I've goten used to them. Every so often I cry about the simplest things...like if someone cuts me off in traffic on the way to work. Clearly not normal behavior on my part!

Mine was really bad when it first started at age 11. It was so horrible for me 'cos I had to miss school for like 2 days every month 'cos I couldn't walk and everyone knew what was wrong and when you're the only one of your in your age group with this issue - it was no fun!!!

Over the years, it's gotten better but some months are worse than others!

So, here's my thing, I can't wait to have my first child....my mom says she was the same way till she had me and it all went away.

Mine are so bad, I have to start taking meds (aleve, vicodin if it's really bad) way before, otherwise I feel so sick to the point of vomitting. The pill is the only thing that really helps, but I always forget to take it.......

You guys who are on BC to control it have it so good!!!

My cramps technically last 2 WEEKS because they start the week before and continue until about the week after, even though Aunt Flo only visits for about 4 days. Plenty of times I have been doubled over at work or in fetal position at home in pain. And the headches are even worse. I nearly fainted once.

Because of gallstones, I can't take any form of birth control that has hormones. So my only options are the IUD and Depo-Provera, both of which scare me. So I am left to suffer until my health insurance kicks in and I can get this damn gallbladder out.

I find it slightly (very slightly) amusing that this poll started on a day that I stayed home frm work b/c the cramps were so bad I couldn't get out of bed.

That said, it hasn't been this bad in about 2 years, but it always lasts at least 7 days. Without the BC pills I was so irregular I would get it for up to 14 days at a time, with only 7-10 days in between.

To make this all really bad, my health insurance plan is changing November 1, and I am being forced to either get rid of my MD's or pay $400-$580 more for BC pills for the next 12 months. I am stopping them as soon as we get back from our honeymoon.
