i would do it because it allows you to get to know the photographer and see how they work.

We didn't do one. DH hates having his picture taken. He even asked me on the wedding day 'Can't they just take more pictures of you?' So I didn't force that one upon him. However, he tentatively agreed to do a TTD shoot in exchange for not having to suffer through e-pics. He didn't think I'd follow through on that one. I don't understand why- if something like that is set in my mind, I *always* follow through.

I made sure they were included in the package for free!! If you don't like them then you have nothing to lose, but I thought that it would be fun and then we can use them at the wedding

Re: Poll on Engagement Photos

i had no intention of doing engagement pics...but my photographer said it was part of the package so we did them. We did use them for our STD but more importantly it gave us an idea of what we are in store for on the wedding day and it helps you connect with your photographer.
It also helped both FH and I notice a few things we needed to work on for the wedding day photos (for example - he would smile but squint his eyes and when i made a serious face i looked angry). we didnt practice in front of mirrors after we got the epics, but from that point on every time we took pics we were a little more self conscious about those things and most of our wedding pics look great (although we havent received all of the photographers photos yet).
