I feel a little silly, so I want to ask your opinions!! I am making my cousin's programs for his wedding. They were over and we were basically entering in their information into my template from my wedding. I had three readers (full catholic mass) - one for the old test. , one for the new test. , and one for the prayer of the faithful. Now, it has been a year since my wedding so i don't remember all the rules. well, when i asked them who was reading the prayer of the faithful so i could take my reader's name out and put in theirs, they said - 'oh, we need another reader? We don't know!' They then asked if I would do it. I felt silly and asked them if they had another aunt or uncle or someone to do it and they said nah - they want me to do it. Now, we have a huge family and my cousin and i aren't tremendously close, so most people will be surprised that i am doing a reading - especially since he is closer with a lot of our cousins. Well, I just remembered (their wedding is saturday and we are doing a rush job on the programs) that you DONT NEED a third reader. I had wanted to include more people. I feel like I misinformed them and somehow included myself. Basically, my question is, how many of you had a third reader?

Re: POLL!! -Quick question about church readings...
Our church doesn't consider the prayer of the faithful a third reading because they have the typical sayings to make and then FH and I get to add to it about family memories, etc. but we are doing the prayer of the faithful as a way of remembering those that are unable to be there.

Re: POLL!! -Quick question about church readings...
I am actually doing readers! Let me explain....
I am doing the full Mass. I am having a reader for the 1st reader and one for the 2nd reading. I am then having the psalm sung my friend (so that is like a 'reader.') I am then having 2 people read the prayer of the faithful. (they will be alternating the petitions.. we are including the ones the church gives us and then adding in some of our own). I am also having a family friend serve as my Eucharistic ministers (the priests will give out the hosts, they will offer the cup) and my little cousin will be my altar boy. i have a HUGE family and I am trying to include as many as possible! but three readers is fairly common. . . .
