POLL: Response Card Question

POLL: Response Card Question

Hi ladies! Well we did it - we finally ordered our invitations over the weekend! There's just 1 small problem now - I'm really unsure about how we should have worded the response card...

Originally we just wanted accepts & declines on it, but they convinced us to add a # of guests attending line so we can tell if anyone adds a guest(s) on their own. I finally said 'ok' but then thought about it over the weekend & just called to have her remove it. I'm afraid that people who might not have thought to add anyone will see that line & decide that it's ok to add someone! Am I nuts? I sure feel it! Every 5 minutes I change my mind about if we should have that line or not!

Please help!

Re: POLL: Response Card Question

I put it on mine b/c I was very afraid our friends wouldn't know to put their guests' names (or 'and guest') on the response card and we'd have no idea how many people were coming.

I don't think people will assume they can invite more than 1 person based solely on that line on the invite.

ETA - but if you don't want it, I don't think it's necessary at all.

I didn't put #of guests attending.
I can vouch for the guests on my side, they know how to properly fill out an RSVP.
As for FH's side, he's on his own with that one.

I think we will have that BUT we'll be filling in the #.
So if they were invited with guest it'll say
___ of __2 __ will attend

if not invited with a guest it will say
___ of __1__ will attend

this way they cannot add anyone without lookin like a jerk lol

I like that b/c it avoids people assuming they can bring guests

my response card says the whole Mr/Mrs. will or will not thing BUT we added on the bottom
' _ seats have been reserved in your honor' and we will write in the number.......

You would think that if you clearly state who is invited people would just say ok ....but of course thats not the way it goes:( I would leave out the line about number of persons. It just gives people that extra confusion sometimes....(i don't know why) but we all are human and we all make mistakes!

Good luck!

Re: POLL: Response Card Question

Thanks SO much ladies! I actually feel a lot better about it now You made me think...

We're inviting everyone with a guest, so hopefully it won't be as much of an issue as it would be if we weren't...It's really the uninvited little kiddies that I'm worried about, but we've been casually spreading the word this past year that it's an adult-only reception so hopefully it won't be too toooo bad. I'm sure there will be SOME invitation drama, but maybe it won't be as bad as I had thought since everyone's 'getting' a guest (my fingers are crossed! lol)
