I'm torn on this and need your help!!! I want us both to see each other before the ceremony because I think it will be a special moment for us as well as calm our nerves, as well as give us plenty of time to get pictures done. FH doesn't want to. He prefers to see me when everyone else does..which at that point I'll be HYSTERICAL! Which is better?

I think even if you are hysterical going down the isle it will be an amazing moment for everyone to see your true feelings of love and happiness.I think you will be ok.Just tuck some tissues on the bottom of the bo-k

I personally don't want FH to see me b4...but thats just me. It's your day and it makes you more comfortable to see him b4 then that is what you should do

I've been torn on this one too... but we've finally decided to see each other before the ceremony.
our reasons: 1) we can have a special moment to ourselves 2) we won't miss our cocktail hour (and our steel drum band!) 3) i feel that FH might hold back his emotions when i'm walking down the aisle because he'll know that everyone is watching him, and he might be embarrassed. 4) we'd rather greet everyone at the cocktail hour and have more time to enjoy the reception! 5) we don't believe that it's 'bad luck' or that it will ruin anything. the first time he sees me will still be special!

I like the traditional way to not see each other before hand, but I feel that if I did see him before I would be a lot calmer and my nerves wouldn't be as shot. I feel for ya, but do what you feel is right and comfortable.

We're traditionalist and want to wait to see each other til the ceremony. Although I've heard many brides say seeing each other before is very special. I think both can and will be very special moments in their own ways, so dont stress it. Choose what works best for you.

It's a personal choice. I did not want to because I wanted that element of surprise. I have heard of people doing that though...some do it just so they can gets the pics out the way so they don't miss the CH.

FH thinks the whole not seeing each other in advance is silly. However, I like the traditional aspect of it. After a lot of debate, together we decided to change our cermony location and time so we could do pictures b/w ceremony and CH, and NOT have to see each other just to attend CH.

I totally agree about beeing torn... I always imagined the moment our eyes meet as I walk down the aisle & he sees me in my wedding dress-- but then I love the idea of the private setting and the pictures together before! I have no idea what we'll do!!

We didn't want to see each other until the doors opened and I walked down the aisle. This was very important to us. There is nothing like seeing each other for the first time that day at that moment!!! Do what ever is really more important to you in the long run. JMO

I had always pictured it where we would finally see each other once I was coming down the aisle. After deciding to get married at the reception hall and knowing it will be dark out at that point, we decided to meet up at my mom's house where I grew up. I will be getting ready there and we will take the limo to the reception hall together so we have time to relax and get some alone time. I think either way can be special. It's all a matter of choice. I like not having to miss the cocktail hour either and getting a big part of the pictures out of the way so I can enjoy the party.

No way!!! I'm not even sleeping with him the night before...I'll be staying at my parents and getting dressed at their house
I originally was against us seeing each other prior to the ceremony but we both agreed that we do not want to miss the cockail hour at all so we will be taking pictured before the ceremony. I just have to make sure our photog gets pictures of us seeing each other for the first time!!!
We are not seeing each other...we have allowed enough time inbetween our cermony and CH to take all of our pictures. I don't know, it's a personal preference I think...I just can't imagine seeing him before.

Well..we have an hour in between the CH and the RH...so I'm not really sure time will be an issue..since we planned to take pictures at/around the hall..but darnit..I SO want us to see each other before..because I know myself well enough to know that I will be hysterical (aka ugly crying) on this day...and do not want that captured on film.. I know crying is ok..but girls...really when I cry...fugghedaboutit!!!
